both & why do you ask such a dumb question? Kids need both parents in their lives, whether the parents are together or not. Sure don't know where you're coming from with this question.

you are talking of a family right. in a family if all are there only then it will mean a family and all members in the family are important they have important roles to play for ex. a man earns for the family and the lady keeps the house in proper shape if the male is not there the whole burden will fall on the female and vice versa so to keep the family going all are important

There is no recipe for the perfect family.I think that both men and women have their important part in the family and that both contribute to the stability of it.There are single mothers and fathers out there that are doing a great job .

A sane, balanced, wise, secure, open, honest, non-abusive, caring, loving, morally/ethically decent human being is best for family. The gender is irrelevant.

Absolute nutters should have the grace to stay away and realise their shortcomings, instead of inflicting their damage onto others.

Let's see, the female gives birth to the family and often goes to work full time. So, she can do it all alone.
The male, goes to work (hopefully). And mows the lawn.
Figure it out.
Ultimately, they should be equal partners in raising healthy well adjusted children to become contributing parts of society.
Basically your question in nonsense.

They are both equally important. Mother for the nurturing and father for the protector, role model and disciplinarian.
