Listen, it's great to be well informed and make a decision on your own but you can't impinge your ideals on others. You can't control the way other think nor feel. The most educated people I know never force anything down ones throat, they present their opinion so others are aware and never belittle others. Thanks for the information but next time try to think about your intention. If you want to recruit people to vegetarianism just have a dinner party for all your friends and show them how great it can be as a practising vegetarian. Try not to "bible" bash it. Actions speak louder than words.

No, I wont call a Vegetarian Dumb or Stupid !
Not being a Vegetarian though !
I Would Call Them Very Smart !
Reason why I say this (its very simple infact) :-
We Can Live a Healthy Life Without Meat
But We Cannot Lead a Healthy Life Without Vegetables !
Can We ?
Result :- Moderation in everything is the wise way to go !
Take Care and God Bless you !

No - in fact, being a vegetarian could be considered the result of sound research and wise choices. For instance, all carnivores in the animal world (e.g. wolves, lions) have a short colon, because the meat would putrefy in a long colon. Of course, that's associated with eating raw meat, but the obverse is true as well, that vegetarians in the animal world (e.g. giraffes, gorillas) have long colons.
Second of all is teeth - carnivores have long canine teath to rip flesh. Ours are, of course, much shorter.
Third is digestive enzymes. Humans don't naturally produce the enzymes necessary to break down meat. Babies have to be slowly initiated to meat, and humans who've been strict vegetarians for a long time (say a year) have stopped producing those (what might almost be considered defensive) enzymes, and those that eat meat get violently ill from what is essentially a poison in the body.
I don't have an encyclopedic source, just my own experience. But a lot of this you can simply look up - it's basic anatomy and physiology.

No I don't think being a vegetarian is dumb. You obviously have an opinion on how animals are treated and you're doing your part to see that an animal isn't killed for food or clothing. There's nothing wrong with having that belief.

I think it is a personal choice. Personally, I absolutely do not think it is dumb because I am vegan myself. I am actually looking into switching to a raw foods diet for health benefits.
I think what you eat is like religion. You can't preach it to other people and hope to change their minds. But, if there is an opportunity to educate and they show interest, there's your window of opportunity!
Do what you think is right because you body is exactly that- YOUR BODY! Whether you think it is cruel or the chewy texture of meat just grosses you out, I think being vegetarian is fantastic! Plus, vegetarians fart better!

I don't think it is dumb....I admire vegetarians. I try to limit the amount of meat I do eat and would love one day to be a total vegetarian ( although I don't think I could ever be a vegan)

I don't like being cruel to animals either. That's why I use hollow points. The animal doesn't even know what hit them. They are dead before they hit the ground. I mean, if I just wounded the animal that would be horrible! I wouldn't be able to sleep that night. Just so you know, Jesus declared all foods clean. He ate fish and lamb at the Passover feast. And for what it's worth, animals are killed as quickly and humanely as possible. It is not in the best interest of the animal or the flavor and quality of the meat if the animals is under stress when it dies.

I think that you are thinking corectly, but if we don't eat meat there is a higher probability to get many infections or viruses. I am not a vegetarian, either a meat-lover, but I try to eat meat once in a wile.
I think this solution is the best!
Just think,
Good luck!!!

not at all. im a vegetarian teen and eat allthe eggies in the fridge (except when my mom buys 110000000packs and they die in one day.) but i try not to waste anything becasue theres so much worldhunger. my mom doesnt make two meals. i make my own too.
ive been a vegetarian for years but it wasnt until last year that i realises how prevelant animal cruelty is when i did my fatory farm injustice report. a lot of these people say "it doesnt matter...because even though you dotn eat it i do" so we may not be stopping a whole lot, but we are not supporting it, and its a small step.
I also didnt know how icky meat was for you. all the junk they feed the animals to grow faster is not good for us human to eat. yucky yucky.
well
