I'm a catholic although not a practising one because I don't believe in all that tripe. Having sex without a condom is bad for everyone's health the C. church need to change their views now it's a load of bulls**t. That's just my opinion though, I know others disagree with me and that's fine. Everyone is different.

I don't think this is a question that too many Catholics would take very seriously, no offense.

Some people seem to think that under Catholic moral thought, premarital sex is okay -- or, at least, is "less sinful" -- if people don't use contraceptives during the act.

But that's not correct. The Church teaches that any sex other than that between husband and wife is sinful -- whether contraceptives are used or not.

Of course, once you're married, having sex with your spouse is okay -- it's actually required, though how often you "do it" is up to you.

But the teaching against contraception still applies.

A succession of Popes have made the decision that contraception is a bad thing and should not be used for birth control purposes.

Yet, these same guys have no qualms about their parisioners having premarital sex, spreading VD & STD amongst themselves.

The misery in having large families living on the breadline. Mothers & Children stigmatised with illigitamacy and other social problems they are an enithema to the RC yet they encourage it.

Why?

Guilt brings them into the church for absolution which does`nt come free. Give consideration to the palatial quarters the clergy live in. The fabulous wealth that the Vatican owns when the majority of its supporters have lived in abject poverty.

A lot of Catholics have accepted contraception... so I guess those Catholics would consider each option equally sinful. For those Catholics who are still on the hope, rhythm and prayer method, I guess premarital with contraception is the worst!

It's two sins.

The premarital sex is a violation of chastity. And, even if the couple was married, the use of artificial contraception is a sin agaisnt nature because it thwarts the procreative purpose of the sex act.

Oh yes, a sin against nature is a sin against God. God designed nature to function the way it does. Anything man does that interferes with natural processes, such as procreation, is sinful.

Contraception is NOT an issue outside wedlock. The issue here is premarital sex, it's sin itself with OR without contraception. Sex is meant for married couples withIN wedlock.

That would depend on how much weight the Catholic in question places on church doctrine.

The Roman Catholic Church, of course, has fairly well-delineated teachings on sex, its meaning(s), and under what circumstances it is properly engaged in. Premarital sex, of course, falls outside their guidelines entirely, and the use of contraception denies part of the meaning of the sex act. So, in the sense of church teaching, a Catholic of conscience would seek forgiveness for both aspects of their act.

But you didn't ask what the Church taught, you asked what Catholics considered worse, and that brings us to an Excellent Question: does membership in a religious organization have meaning without unity of belief?

I'm a catholic but I'm a Christian Roman Catholic... AMDG is right but of what marriage? So, this brings to your question of what do Catholics Consider worse... none... because the premarital sex should be reconsidered first of their real meaning because of the term marriage in the eyes of God.

if you all do some digging into the churches holding ( companies where is has money in ) you will find out they still do or they used to own company stocks in contraception making companies from the beginning of the companies up until a few years ago..so what type of hypocrite is that? telling its flock to do one thing ..but making money off of their flock doing what they are not supposed to do...
one of the problems all churches are having these days is..the free speech and the Internet, information is so readily available the churches double standards are coming out. I hate it when someone says do what I say, but not what I do...
so to answer your question, the church will find a way to condemn both equally...
plus when the church lets the nuns and priests to get married and have families, then maybe the molestations will slow or come to a stop, PLUS how can anyone who has never had a family tell a family what to do to handle a problem? ? ?

good luck

Having premarital relations is the first sin, contraception the second. Sexual relations are meant for a man and his wife only. It must be open to fruitfulness from God.
