This story has been blown out of proportion in an attempt to make Islam seem like a violent evil religion not from God. So, thank you for asking and looking for an honest answer, I hope I can do my best to clear things up at least for you.

The first thing we will look at (among so many things) is the age of Aisha. Scholars of Islam, men and women who have dedicated their lives to studying the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, have not yet found any convincing leads as to her age. Her estimated range of age at the time of marriage (she was engaged to him 3 years prior I believe) was between 9 and 16. Many Islamophobes (those who have a fear of Islam) will say 6 or 9, yet how can they know if scholars who have studied most of their lives do not?

A second point to look to: Even if she were 9, that does seem like quite a young age to marry, and it makes her husband seem like a perverted man, doesn't it? Well, in today's society, in our modernized world, this man would be arrested for pedophillia! He would be judged as a sick sick man taking the innocents from such a young child. Now I ask you this, do you know the age that your grandmother or great grandmother, or great-great grandmother was married? If you asked, you would be shocked! My grandmother was married at 12! An American girl married so young? Well, that was the norm for their time. Less that 100 years ago, girls were marrying at the age she first began her period, the day she became a woman. If this was happening so recently in our history, why are we referencing only one man who lived 1400 years ago and blaming him? Why not hold accountable every single man in the history of civilization for doing the same?

So wouldn't marrying at such a young age damage a girl's personality and mentality? Aisha became the first woman scholar of Islam. Imagine that! A female scholar almost two millinia ago, when less than 100 years ago in the US women were seen only as housewives and mothers and not as thinking minds. She is one of the highest recognized scholars of all time too! I included some links in the bottom so you can read about her if you like, I hope you get the chance.

So basically what has happened here is that in an attempt to destroy the image of Islam, people have taken a part of the history of Islam and made it seem like a horrible act. They've taken a practice that was EXTREMELY common (accent on extremely because it was as normal as jelly on toast) and put standards on it that have only recently come into play. It's as fruitless as blaming cooks from 1400 or even 3000 years ago for not washing their hands before preparing a meal. Imagine!

Hope this helps you to understand our point of view a little better, and hope it dispels any future ill thoughts about us stemming from minds of those who want nothing more than hate and intolerance.

how would you like if we say the same about Jesus(pbuh)
really I don't know from where you are getting this information.

he never did this and he was against that, Mohamed (pbuh) was the most honest, cleanest, trustful, loving man on earth till date if you like it or not.
