Yes. The real reason is to give thanks and worship the God who created you and provided everything for you. Also, the moral precepts laid down in the Bible are very good for living.

Hope, religions offer the hope and comfort that there is a higher force in charge of everything. So your never alone and whatever happens, someone knows the outcome and will make sure it all works out and is in charge.
Love, religions offer different concepts of love other then the physical which allow special relationships to grow and build friendships which have a common strong bond.
Insurance: Religions offers a comfort of knowing what happens when we die. We all fear death, and the idea of going to a better place is a comforting idea that helps us cope and accept death
Morality: Yes, reward, punishment, and also a code of conduct. It gives a set of rules which to live by, and reasons to follow them. This code may be similar to social codes, but they are stricter and have consequences for the actions.
Tradition: family, Friends, youth. This is a common bond that is often passed on from different family members and Friends.

Actually, "the whole reward/punishment thing" isn't the most important reason to believe in Christianity.
The most important thing is that Jesus is the Son of God, the Lamb of God who died to destroy our death and rose to restore our life.
About 2 billion people around the world believe this. It's not likely that 2 billion people are wrong.

man was not made to glorify himself, he was meant to glorify God. So joining a religion because of reward/ punishment is not what Christianity is about. It does not glorify God. God is our everlasting father, the rock that we can place our faith upon. He will never change for he is the I AM. The true purpose of why I follow God is to do His Will. I never cared about heaven or hell before I became a Christian but now I can see what is ahead for me and it is amazing. A true gift for a child of God and I will do everything He tells me because I want to spend eternity with Him. God loves all His children, even those who deny Him. But He won't take back those who wait until it's too late. Christianity is truly a leap of faith. It takes communication with God Almighty to get correct answers for we humans make many mistakes. I pray that you will find the answer with God.

To me, it makes sense. Every religion has it's gods and origins and teachings. Some teach that you'll become something else in another life according to what you've done in this one. Some teach that there is no other life. In my opinion, Christianity is the only religion that offers hope of eternal life. Not to mention that I've experienced first hand what the power of God in my life can do. It makes sense to me that there is a God who loves me and wants the best for me and accepts me for who I am and no matter what I've done in the past. Other religions make you pay penance for your sins. Christ already did that for me. All I have to do is accept it and try to live my life according to his will. And yes, we have commands to abide by, but if we didn't, the world would go to hell in a hand basket! That's why I believe.

Jesus said "I came to give you life that you may live it more abundantly".
For the past 5 years since I accepted Jesus as my Savior, I have had a more abundant life. I don't wake up sick with a hangover. I have more money because I don't crave beer and waste my money foolishly on things that will harm my health.
This is some of the immediate rewards in this life.

That's not all Christianity is about. It's more about love than anything. If you want/need love or want to share/spread some, Christianity is a great place to start doing that. And I'm not talking about perverted love, so don't even go there.

Lamb of God, good band.
People say they feel God, he talks to them, he shows them the way... It is all about rewards, regardless of what anyone says. Their whole basis in life is to get into Heaven.

Xians believe Jesus was messiah; son of G-d. Jews say he wasn't because he could be killed and was no more son of G-d than anyone else. They don't buy the idea that he "rose from the dead". Makes more sense to be Jewish.
