The egg. There was recently a study (I lost the article) where they officially said (As I have been saying for years) that the egg was another creature that slowly mutated genetically into our modern day chicken.
No no, wait, here it is:
Now a team made up of a geneticist, philosopher and chicken farmer claim to have found an answer. It was the egg.
Put simply, the reason is down to the fact that genetic material does not change during an animal's life.
Therefore the first bird that evolved into what we would call a chicken, probably in prehistoric times, must have first existed as an embryo inside an egg.

Well, it actually depends on what you mean by the term "egg"... because if you are talking about a chicken egg, of course the chicken came first... but if you're talking about eggs in general, then eggs came first (Think prehistoric animals... some of them had eggs).

According to the Bible God created all the living things. SO I think He created the chicken first. If the egg came first, then who sat on until it hatched? It must have been the chicken that came first.

The egg would have come first, containing the DNA of what would become the first chicken.

The chicken, if you think about it. In the Bible, it says God created all the animals, not the seeds or the eggs.

I would say the egg because the first "chicken" had to hatch from a reptilian egg.
