I think you should wait it out. If he is sick then he probably wants to get better and then he will be back, he stays in contact with you and that is a good sign and if his friends say he is not cheating and you know them well and know they don't lie then he probably is being honest and will be back soon. When you talk to him wish him well and tell him to get better and welcome him with open arms when he gets back. There is alot of celebrating to do. Don't worry, Be happy and you know what they say, " Absent makes the heart grow fonder."

It sounds like there is more to that than anxiety. It sounds like manic depression or bi-polar. If you want to stay with him and you truly do love him and believe that he loves you, then give him time. Don't be pushy and try to get him back. If there is a mental issue, that could make the situation worse and you might lose him forever. Is he calling you? Or can you get a hold of him? I wonder if he might not be in a mental facility as an inpatient or on an outpatient program. They are very strict on visitations for the reason of healing, they sometimes don't want them seeing people until some of the healing has begun. I would check that out and see if that can't be what is happening.

if u r talking about an episode created by PTSD....then it's a serious condition and it can drain you as well. I was with a war veteran for 3 years who came home with the anxiety disorder (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and if you don't know how to deal with it....it can cause you to be stressed and depressed. I thought I can help him, but I couldn't b/c I never heard of it b/4. Get educated about what's going on and why he has anxiety, even if it isnt PTSD. Knowledge is Power!

stop...take a deep breath and calm down...he needs you to be supportive right now, not a freaking out mess. Just gave him time and space. If he is still talking to you and he says he loves you then, everything sounds like it's okay. Just stay calm.

Wait it out. He has documented and proven reasons for needing to leave. You just need to be patient and wait for him.
