I never heard that it is ok. But maybe the reason is b/c you can never tell today if a man is straight or gay so if you see guy who is dating alot of girls then that maybe reassures u that he is not gay. because you can easily tell (sometimes) when a girl is straight or not and even if she is not straight chances are she may get with a guy again. So it does not look right for a girl to go out with several guys because it is not lady like. But on the other hand majority of guys are dogs so we expect that out of them!

Its okay for a man and a woman to date several people.
most people have problems when there are extra marrital affairs or cheating on boyfriend/girlfriend.

Inconsistent and sexist societal rules. Don't pay attention to them. On the other hand, why do you want to date more than one person at a time? That doesn't sound healthy.

Because guys are selfish pigs. They can do that and be rooted on by their friends, big "playa" ya know. I hate it. But a girl does it.....NO....we get labeled. All guys are like that, I hate it, just like the threesome thing, it's ok for a guy to want one but "ewww, gross" if a girl wants one than more guy. They are never happy with just one girl, but the girl has to be with one guy or she gets a label slapped on her.
