I know they smoke Marijuana as a sacrament...... what are some of the other details? Mind set? Beliefs? Taboos? Traditions?

I want to hear the opinions of a flesh and blood human being and not some electronic machine with a no heart.

We're getting away from the "human equasion" now a days and too often at that.

Sorry!

Thanks for the link, but it won't be the best answer. Any religious belief has a human side to it. If I wanted cold hard facts I would have gone to the internet.

Well,

It is a mystical revelation.

Religion is not the word used...as religions are viewed as man-made. Rastafari is the Life. Living naturally as we are meant. Accepting the ways of nature.

In Jamaica, in the 1930s three preachers separately came to the same conclusion after studying Christian prophecy and watching world events...they found the Coronation of Emperor Haile Sellassie I of Ethiopia as the fulfillment of Revelations. In short, that Christ shall return upon the Throne of David and shall be called King of Kings-Lord of Lords- Conquering Lion of The Tribe of Judah. And that nations shall come and bow in recognition (there were delegates from 52 nations at the Coronation).

Then war will be waged agianst him...(Moussolini invaded 1936) leading to world war Armageddon. (World war 2-Cold wars-Globilization-Still an ongoing struggle)

I can go on and on...but basically that's how it took form in this time.

Many grow there locks as a vow similar to the Nazarite in Numbers ch. 6. Physical and financial separation from Babylon (rule of man) is valued.

Herbs (all herbs) are medicinal and spiritual offerings and used in many forms. (but not all smoke..not all grow locks)

Different 'houses' have come about...mainly Nyabhinghi, Bobo Ashanti, and Twelve Tribes of Isreal...but many do not ascribe to any denomination.

Rastafari is for anyone who accepts. Africa is seen as the physical and spiritual home of all man-kind and Ethiopia is the rallying point for world unity (beginning with African unity). Thus fighting against colonialism in all its forms is essential.

This answer is pretty generic...there is much more to it...let me refer to other sources...

I can't tell you anything other than that you are sitting here on the internet with the ENTIRE world wide web at your finger tips and instead of doing a search you are trying to find the info from someone on Answers. Sounds pretty lazy to me.
