I'm having a "boxing" theme wedding, so I have chosen the colors black and blue. I will be dressed as one of those ring girls, and the notary officiating the ceremony will be the ref, my groom will of course wear a boxing robe and shorts! The groomsmen will all have fake black eyes, but I can't find the right kind of flowers... I want the bouquets to be all taped up, just like boxing gloves, but the florist won't do that and says she can't find black flowers... what do I do? Are there any black flower varieties, or should I use fake flowers and make my own arrangements?

I'm sorry, but that sounds awful. I got married last year and had a very traditional and beautiful Greek Orthodox wedding - and the thought of you having a "boxing" theme just makes me sad. I hope that is really want you want, and it's not some funny wedding idea your fiancee came up with. Even the florist doesn't want to work with you. Reconsider traditional - it will be fantastic and you will have an easier time making choices on flowers and so forth.

There are such things as black roses, but they are very expensive. Go with the fake flower arrangement. Use black and light blue. That will bring the boxing theme all together!

Use fake flowers, florist have to spray paint real flowers and won't do that because they think there reputation will look bad. You could always do this yourself.
By the way I think that sounds like a fun wedding, have fun planning it!

I really hope this is a joke. I can't imagine someone actually getting married in this fashion, but to each his/her own.

Use the fake flowers. They last longer and hold up better and you can get any color you want.

Use fake flowers. Besides, they won't wilt during the wedding. Real ones will.

I would just stick with blue flowers. Unless you spray paint baby's breath black.

you could use white roses and have your florist put black tips on them, they tip them in back and only the very ends are black.

There are many varieties of Lillies, Gerbers, snapdragons,Clematis that work well.
