To summarize:

Middle Eastern countries never accepted the UN resolution which authorized the creation of the country of Israel. A bunch of Palestinians left or were forced out of the Israeli territory during the 7 day war in the 60's when 5 middle eastern countries attacked Isreal and lost.

Now the Palestinians are living in ghetto's. They essentially want to kick Israel off the Map and take their land. There are still daily killings of both Palestinians and Israeli's 40 years later.

There are hundreds of reference books to read on this topic, so i tried to make it concise.

First thing is to understand what "Palestine" means. There is / has never been a country called Palestine.

The region of Palestine is today divided among the countries of Jordan, Israel, parts of Lebanon and Syria, and the disputed territories of Judea/Samaria and Gaza.

In 1922 the British carved off Palestine east of the Jordan River to create the state of Jordan. In 1948 Israel declared its independence.

The stateless Arabs of Judea/Samaria (the West Bank) and Gaza took on this identity of being "Palestinian" in the 1970s, as a tactic in the effort to destroy Israel.

Or, in their own words:

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism."

- PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein, 1977

Simple, Israel doesn't want to give back Palestinians forefathers land them.
While Jews immigrated to Palestine (60 years ago), they wanted all of their lands to make a new country (Name Israel). So they founded this country by killing Palestinians, destroying houses, running out Palestinian, etc.
They won't let others even speak about their activities including, looting, killing innocents people, etc.
Thus freedom countries are protesting against Israel guiltiest.

Also, UN can't do anything about Palestine because US will use its Veto voting to disappoint all of peaceful activities against Israel.

Coz Palestinians feel that the Israelis have invaded their land and one of the holiest places (holiest to Christians, Jews and Muslims). Israel was created through a UN charter and amazingly in contrast, the UN called for a plebiscite in Kashmir as well (the bone of contention between India and Pakistan), but the UN has not taken any steps even after the passage of more than 50 years to enforce its decision. What boggles our mind is that why were Jews relocated to Jerusalem in a jiffy, when in contrast Kashmiris are being killed everyday, their women being raped and they shout loud for independence, yet no one pays heed to them.

Does it have something to do with Kashmiri people being Muslims and Israeli people being Jews? ;)
