The best for the planet would be 0 or 1, at this point, to stem overpopulation. For zero population growth, 2 kids per couple would do it. However, we all know people don't think this way when it comes to having a family. It really depends on how much you love children and how well you are able to support them. If you want a big family, please consider adoption. There are so many kids in foster care who need a stable, loving family.

I am 1 of 6. It was fun being in a big family. When I grew up I only had 1. I think 2 or 3 is best if you make enough money to eat and have a decent house.

There aught never be more children than parents. For parents (especially moms) become overburdened. As it is, National research still holds moms as primary perpetrator of child abuse, neglect, and murder. As ultra-feminists have stated "its because mom is around the kids more"... Other then that statement being extremely stupid... Fathers need be in their children's lives... Get a clue. As for the current stressers and demands placed on parents? (Probability of divorce--85% by women) -- hint hint hint... Its an abusive cycle for the father and kids really.

I have always felt that at least two is the best and maybe a third. Me personally, I would like to only have two kids.

2 or 3...with only 1 the child would get lonely and more than 4 could get expensive, but still not too bad.
