There is NO proven cure for crohn's!! I have had crohn's for over 15 years & have tried everything. I have had a small bowel resection & that put me into remission for 6 yrs. I am currently on Remicade infusions which I have been in remission for 4 months & still have diarrea several times a day due to narrowing in my term ilieum. My next option is another surgery. Everyone is different when it comes to crohn's, espescially were the disease is located & the severity of it. Some people have found different diets have helped with theirs were others have to be on high doses of prednisone for a long length of time. you have to find what is right for you! I find keeping a daily journal of foods you ate, number of times you are in the bathroom, how you feel, (pain, weekness, tired etc.) Only you know how you feel & if something is not working for you check with your dr. as they can help you in trying different things! Good luck!

There is no cure for Crohn's disease, and the disease is so different in different people that what puts some people in remission may not for other people. I take Asacol three times a day(6 pills all together) and my remissions have only lasted 2-3 weeks, but that is better than before I was diagnosed when I was sick everyday.

I have Crohn's. I've had it for 24 years.

Had a laparotomy with a bowel resection when I was 18. I was in remission for a while. I've had a few flare ups, but they were treated in the hospital with short-term steroids.

I have little "mini-flares" where I can tell when my intestines are narrowing...but a few days of a clear liquid diet helps quiet them down.

I took Remicade and that stuff was WONDERFUL! I had some hair loss and some nausea afterwards, but the pain....it was just gone.

I'm doing fine now...we'll see what happens down the roard regarding a cure.
