I imagin when you say 600 pioneer amp it is sur-round sound if it is it is 100 wats per channel or so and the sub is powered by how much I do not know my setup I got a pioneer surround 600 wat system and 8 speakers 4 speakers rated at 100 watts 2 rated at 80 and 2 15 three way stage loud speakers rated at 500 watts each
since the amp only has 100 watts per channel it can harly push the large 500 watt speaker past a certain point so I got a crate spa1600
power amp that pumps 450 watts into each speaker with the signal from the stereo and of course I got a 12 inch power subwoofer on the ground 150 watts the two 80 watt speaker have a 10 inch and a tweeter in them
and man it shakes pictures off walls breaks glasses makes thing dance on the kitchen table and that is three rooms away from where the stereo is 20 feet distance and that is not even half power !! it is massive impressive I love it. if you got the money and you really want to push the envolope more power to ya

It all depends on how you configure the system and how you build your enclosure. I have seen some really crappy equipment in cars that end up sounding better than brand-name equipment that was "professionally" installed.

And then I have seen some high-end equipment sound like crap simply because the enclosure was not large enough or the port holes were in the wrong position or that the amp was not properly grounded.
