"Time" in the essence of watches, etc. was conjured up by humans. Humans make everything more complicated then they should. Depends on your outlook and approach to life, there are many factors, during many different times. Even as simple as the idea of a work schedule or school.

i think time is arbitrary. we all agreed that 1 second lasts this long. we can budget our time, but not really control it because we ourselves made the concept up.
maybe you feel controlled by time when youre trying to meet a deadline... i feel the same :P (but, as they say, a deadline is the best motivation!)
