Easy! Use the French cafe method -

Squeeze the lemon juice into a small glass pitcher, filtering out the seeds. Have another pitcher of cold water, and a bowl of sugar.

Pour the pure juice into a glass, add water, and sweeten to taste. Very continental!

Everybody knows how to make lemonade, right? Squeeze some lemons, add sugar and water. But how to make lemonade so that it tastes right everytime? Here's a surefire method.

Remember the starting proportions - 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, 1 cup of lemon juice.

The secret to perfect lemonade is to start by making sugar syrup, also known as "simple syrup". Dissolving the sugar in hot water effectively disperses the sugar in the lemonade, instead of having the sugar sink to the bottom.

In a small saucepan heat the sugar and water until the sugar is dissolved completely. While the sugar is dissolving, use a juicer to extract the juice from 4 to 6 lemons, enough for one cup of juice. Add the juice and the sugar water to a pitcher. Add around 4 cups of cold water, more or less to the desired strength. Refrigerate 30 to 40 minutes.

Serve with ice, sliced lemons.

Serves 6.

Mine takes a little more time but you get consistent results.

3 lemons
1 quart water
1 cup sugar

With vegetable peeler peel strips of zest from one or two lemons, add to the water and sugar and bring to a full rolling boil. Juice the three lemons and strain into a 2 quart pitcher. Remove strips of peel and then add the water/sugar mixture (it will have a light yellow tint from the lemon peel). Add a second quart of cold water and refrigerate.
You can make pink lemonade by adding a few drops of grenadine syrup.

For a good, refreshing pitcher of sparkling lemonade, skip the water and use sparking water or tonic water! In a glass pitcher, fill 3/4 with sparking or tonic water. Squeeze 5 lemons.
Top the pitcher with 7-up or sprite. Serve with ice.
Add cut strawberries for a fruity alternative.

Or, if you don't like the fizzy water, you can still use regular water.

Before serving, dip the glass rim in water, and then dip in sugar. Adds a nice sugary touch to the drink.

If the drink is not sweet enough do not add granulated sugar. In a bowl add 1/4 cup of hot water. Dissolve 5 Tsp sugar and use that mixture to sweeten drink.

Juice your lemons with a juicer, add sugar to taste, some people might like it a sweeter than others. It depends on the size of the container you have as to how many lemons and how much sugar. So, just use several lemons, and as I said sweeten to taste. Enjoy!!!
