My youngest child drives me crazy when she eats. She bites the food so many times. Meaning, if she has a french fry, she takes a bite, then again, then again, NIbbles it all the way down, even with a cookie, usually you bite it once then put the rest in mouth. no she bites it, looks, bites, bites. It makes me nuts. Has anyone ever seen this?

Yes, not only is it normal, but actually healthier. The smaller bites and the more they chew, the better they will be able to digest the food and the less likely they will get overweight. But yes, it drives me nuts too, especially being raised in a world of fast eaters.

Yes!! It's called playing with your food. I did the same thing when I was a kid. I would nibble and take bites and nibbles of pieces of food.
You should keep correcting the child but a lot of kids do it.

Lord have mercy, my kids do the same friggin' thing!!! It makes me nuts!! Fries are the worst, but my middle child does it with chips too. And popcorn... oh my gosh! They grab a huge handful and stuff the whole thing in their mouth!! I don't know how many times I say "Chew with your mouth closed!" or "Take a bite and THEN chew!" I feel your pain.

There are some children who used to bite the food more than usually.

However its good to chew the food as much as possible as it will increase the disestive power and give her rich energy.

If you think that its beyond the limit, just consult a specialits

In the grand scheme of things, this is really not that important. Is it that you are in a hurry and want her to eat faster? If so, then kindly tell the child that "we are in a hurry" or "we have somewhere to go, so please finish your food." It's not a big deal. This is the least of your worries.

If that is the worst thing your child does, then you need to get over it. My kids do it to. Its better then shoving the whole french frie in her mouth. Grow up

I think you need to let go of some control issues & relax. Why do you care HOW she eats as long as she is eating & not making a mess?

She might be eating out of boredom and not actually hungry.

Just thank your stars that she's not cramming food in her mouth!

yes my cousin does that and it is because she wants to "enjoy" her food and wants it to last longer than anybody elses and also she doesn't want to get a stomach ache from eating too fast! Hope this helps!!

I think all kids do it at some point. I see mine do it all the time, as long as they don't sound like little pigs when they eat, I am happy!
