I got the same way as you when I took xanax I hate the stuff. I have been on Klonopin now for a few years & will stay on it ! I take one at bedtime to sleep & during the day I only take a 1/2 at a time when I need it. Works great. Celexa didn't work on e either I am on prozac & that does the trick along with some B complex vitamins !

Don't let other doctors medicate you. They don't know your history as well as your Dr. Try to go for a walk when you feel like things a racing. Do the things you still enjoy as I know you've lost your desire to do a lot of the things you used to do for enjoyment. Remember this is all in your head. Try to stay grounded in the real world. Think of how much fun you can have in NY. I too, have Bi-Polar and suffer from the same things. I'm leaving this week for a trip to Florida and am not sure if I really even want to go, but know it will be good for me to get away for a week. You just have to dig in and stay on your meds. If they are not working to your liking, let your regular Dr. know and hold off till he gets back as best you can. Every time I let another Dr. change my meds, I end up in a hospital. I don't go to the hospitals any more. Keep God in your life as well, he will guide you! Stay strong and good luck!

I feel very sorry for you and I feel really touched by your distress...
States of mind are always changing and one thing we all need is a healthy dose of refreshing and nourishing stability... Try to remain calm and tell yourself that things will get better (as they generally do, you know). One thing with panic attacks is that they feed from deep rooted problems that need to be resolved... try talking to people you trust openly about yourself. You will find that most of them will be more than willing to help you and to share their own experiences. You may also find that once you start talking about the root of the problem, it just simply disappears...
Don't forget that a problem shared is a problem halved ...
But if you feel that talking isn't sufficient, you'll need the support of your doctor, or even a specialist.
Good luck and take care !!!
;^)

Kathy it is the old memories from old places that trigger panic attacks. Usually a geographic cure is possible if you travel. Bipolars love to travel and forget the past and meet new people. Now you need to find outsiders to meet not winner/players who could put you down as you don't know the second vocabulary. Sometimes a religion can give you a fresh meaning to life.

Well at you said you are goin to call your Dr as soon as they open. Tell you Dr what you are feeling and that you don't think the new drug is working for you. He or she can then give you the one you was taking or try something different. There is no need to panic they will fix it for you just call them as you said and they can change it now for you. Good luck and try not to worry about it everything will be OK...........

You need to exercise big time!! It's the easiest way to clear your mind and get your body on track. You obviously need to distract yourself as well. Stop taking pills. Get a hobby.
