Do some people believe in God because that explanation is the most real, and some believe in scientific explanations for EVERYTHING and for them those scientific explanations are the more real?

Do people believe in God because a scientific explanation doesn't make sense, and they in order to function as a human need to fill the gap with SOME explanation, hence "god"

Some people attribute things they don't understand to "god", others don't take that easy road. I think those who do not accept the popular idea of a god are actually thinking on a deeper level (they see through religion), but some of the greatest thinkers were Agnostics, however they were not interested in hocus-pocus and were after scientific explanations. So it's quite diverse and depends on the particular kind of mind. But here's something interesting..

Quantum Unified Field: Infinitely dynamic, non-material, field of self-aware intelligence.

Old School Physics:
Consciousness is a fluke in an overwhelmingly dead universe.

Cutting Edge Quantum Theory:
Matter is a fluke in an overwhelmingly conscious universe.

Many people believe in "god" because they can't justify existence, but it appears that existence is inverse; that is, consciousness creates reality, not the other way around. So, the existence of the universe is actually not a problem, there was nothing to "create." Of course, one has to then explain the existence of consciousness, but here we are approaching what "god" actually is. I'm saying rather than some invisible man in the sky, one can have consciousness (intelligence). And this is just how god gets pushed further and further back... stones => clouds => thunder => volcano => spirit => consciousness => ???

Some very well may. But when intelligent people take an interest in actually looking at the volumes of information compiled on Christianity. They begin to see just how much scholarly criticism these document have withstood. When they begin to apply the same level of scrutiny to some of the scientific data used to support many of the popular theories associated with evolution and the big bang, they start to question everything. It is then we find that we may have jumped to conclusions years ago that we can no longer support. When we add to that the evidence that many of our critical findings of past proofs (for evolution) were falsified, we become skeptical of everything new. When people like Einstein and Hawking openly discuss the idea of design, it raises eyebrows to say the least.

Some people don't think for themselves too much in this area and are only willing to consider the option they were taught.
Having said that, no one is going to choose the explanation that seems LESS real to them. 'Hmm. It makes a lot of sense to me for God to be real, but just for the heck of it, I don't think I'll believe in him.'

And I know you've been hanging around fundamentalists here a lot, so I guess it's excusable, but don't forget that many Christians believe in both science and God, so it's not like one is simply a replacement or an alternative for the other.

I'm comfortable with both. I see no problem with God having created science.

Yes, some people demand answers to everything...I imagine full-disclosure makes some feel more comfortable. But God isn't the "gap"... He's the only one with all of the answers. Since we're not God, I don't expect we'll ever know all of the answers...but SOMEBODY does.

That's why it's called Faith.

I don't understand why my parents didn't just throw me into the ocean when I was a kid. I was a burden, cost them money, and was a general nuisance. The reason they didn't lies somewhere in something humans call "love"...something that science can't prove or define.

In a word: yes.

I have seen the zealots on both sides of the fence (spiritualists and scientists) argue their particular views and I've decided many things as a result.

One thing in particular is the existence of a little bit of energy. Can one see it? Can one feel it? No. (Just as one can't see God or see an atom...extra "sight" is needed.)

HOWEVER, when you amass enough of these little pieces of something, you end up with a bigger "something" that you can feel, hear, taste, smell and see (be it a "burning in your bosom", a "possession"; a pair of blue jeans or a Big Bang).

It's not so much that scientific explanations don't make sense, it's perhaps more comforting to know that all this energy is not random, that's it's controllable (and controlled).

Just my opinion. =^)

It has got to be real, real, real,

I do study my bible, Matt.22:37-40; Jesus gave us the great commandnent. Gal.5:22,23; Is fruits of the spirit.

Adam to year of flood 1656 , Noah is in a fix,
At age 600, he has 350 years to year 2006,
Abraham at 75 in 2083, as the covenant is,
In 430 years as Moses has Pharoah at risk.

Gen.9:28,29[Noah 950]; 12:4; 15:13,16;
Exo.7:7[age 80]; 12:40,41[430 years];

In 40 years to 2553, is end of wilderness,
Judges rule in Promise Land Samuel is last,
Then king Saul, David, and 480 years does end,
Solomon builds a temple, had 36 years to reign.

Deut.34:7; 1Ki.6:1; 1Ki.11:42[Solomon dies];

So he died 3069 and 18 kings are onto Babylon,
To end 391 years at 3460 after Eden and Adam,
Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Daniel write it down,
Daniel give 2520 to 5980 after Adam, till Satan's is down,
92 years ago Satan was earth bound.

5980 + 92 = 6072, 2520 + 92 = 2612. 1914 + 92 = 2006 CE.

In Satan's short time[58 year to go], God's word gets around,
Matt.24:3,14,15,22,36-38
[only god knows the day and hour;
We're into last days, Michael's is now most renown,
Rev.12:7-12; Dan.12:1-13;
The Pit is open, at this time, the sealed of God are found,
Rev.9:1-5[5x 30 = 150];
As raised up at last day, John 6:44; Elect are heaven bound,
1Thes.4:15-17;
Mark 13:27;
Prophecy? Dan.7:25[8:12-14[2300]; 12:1-7[2500];
Jude 9; Michael stands up, 8-10[2520 Satan's put down Rom.16:20[apostles expected Satan to be down
],
Dan.11:11[2x 1290 =] 2580, 12:12[2x 1335 =] 2670]; ?

Here is where the bible time line Eden to Jesus reign is found.

Rev,20:1-6[1000 year reign, with redeemed Rev.14:1-7];

Satan has 6,130 years from Eden, this world he is in will end,
All is made as perfect as it was before sin entered in back then,
And we will all be Gods perfect children and his perfect family.

I have never believed in an explanation of god which satisfied my mind.

Because God is beyond logics and mind cant think beyond logics.

That z why i never believed god as explained by most of the relgions.....a stern king sitting in sky and controlling us and rewaring us or punishing us

We have to go beyond mind to understand God, and when you transcend mind...logics, time and space is no more !!
