I No Longer Believe in God...Am I Wrong?

Question

Today I was playing with my sisters cockerspaniel puppy and it occured to me...
What kind of a God would make such a hidious creature? Her eyes sag, her nose is huge, and she looks so dumb.
There must be no God. And if there is God, the cockerspaniel proves that it is not a loving and merciful God.
Am I wrong?

yes you are wrong, VERY wrong. the lord works in mysterious ways. god created that ugly creature for a special purpose. we may never know, but it has one. god has plans for that dog, and it is right where he wants it in life. god will choose the right paths for this dog. he is a blessing like all of gods creatures. how can you even imply that there is no god, for he is allowing you to breathe at his very moment. life is always what its cracked up to be, do you think its easy being a christian???...

You are right when you guess that is no god, but not about the dog. The sense of beauty is subjective. This creature is ugly for your eyes, but this doesn't prove that there is no god. In my opinion there are other proves of the nonexistence of a loving and perfect god. The diseases, the natural catastrophes, the suffering of innocents, such as the victims of the nazis, the injustices in general, etc. Only using the trick of faith (self illusion) it is possible to believe that a perfect god made an imperfect universe.

You are certainly not wrong. Why would it be wrong to believe that an ugly dog (or any horrible thing) could not be the work of a loving and merciful god? You are actually saying this "What I see is not worthy to be the work of the god I envisage." Yes?

But people are basically telling you "Yes, the all-powerful good god made that disgusting thing and that's the way it is."

So, your expectations are higher than theirs, right? And you are being honest about it, right? Now if I were god I would beam you straight to heaven, and as for them, I would re-incarnate them into animals, and not the most attractive sort ;)

BTW, I also don't believe in "God" but I do believe in gods.

Just because something is not perfect does not mean that there is no god. It doesnt mean that there is a god either. You have some pre-conceived notions about how your god manages reality. Life is suffering. Even puppies can be ugly. You know this to be true. Perfection is an ideal and ideals arent really meant to be made real. They are something to works towards and are there to guide us, but perfection does not exist. You think the puppy is bad? Look at some of the birth defects that people are born with.

ur wrong for sure .. god made u .. god created all what u can see around .. how the heck u don't beleive in god ?? if u don't beleive in god who else u will beleive in ??
in qura'an god created humans and genes just to worship him alone .. god gave u that beautifull face and he gave u ur eyes that u can see through ,, he gave u ur nose so u can smell things ,, he gave u ur tounge so u can talk .. and so on .. what u r sayin does not make any since .. how is god not loving or merciful ??
god forgives u if u relaized that u did wrong .. god forgives ur bad deeds even if they were as much as the sea drops .. just when u really want that ..god tests your faith by putting u in troubles or maybe someone u know dies or anything bad will happen to u .. just to check how much faithful u r and how u gonna deal with it ... u have to stop and think again .. be logical ..read about islam it's such a great religon .. if u r still confused email me .. thank u ,, and good luck

The answer are you wrong is Yes.
Genesis says that God made the heavens and the earth and all the life within it.
God even made creatures after their (trinity) likeness, God made you in his likeness, made you out of love with a spoken word, God even knew you before you was even conceived in the womb.
If you stop believing in God that could mean eternity for you.
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoso ever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but through him the world might be saved.
Believing in Christ is believing in God, without that faith there is no salvation.
Decide for yourself, but I urge you as a christian to believe in God and be in a bible based church reading Gods word.

I don't like cockerspaniels either. Got 4 nice scars on my finger from one of the horrible creatures attacking me. Nope, don't like them at all.

However, I believe in God. My choice. You choose what ever you want.

There's alot of things that make me think there must not be a "loving" and "merciful" god. Think about all the other things, besides ugly dogs. Like, cockroaches, bees, fatness, running out of gas when you're 89 miles from a gas station...

Who knows if there is really a god or not. I haven't met him/her/it personally, so I can't prove he/she/it exists. Then again, I've never seen conclusive evidence that he/she/it does NOT exist.

So I'm happy just wondering who the hell is in charge of this ant-farm of a world anyways.

Well the way I see it is "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" Just because you don't find that dog beautiful doesn't mean someone else won't. He (the dog) might even turn out to be someones companion or best friend. Just have faith in Gods will, he does everything for a reason and makes no mistakes.

You have a right to think what you want, but did you ever think that God made that dog to show us that we should
love an animal or a person no matter what faults they
might have, no matter what they look like & no matter how
different they are ? Love is what matters most & it's the
inside (the heart) that counts not the looks.
