If so , do they believe it? Do they just read and believe in part of it? Or do they just accept what someone tells them?

These are simply questions and not criticisms. Why do people get so defensive? I asked these questions, well lets see, BECAUSE I COULD!

Catholics are encouraged to read the Bible.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says: The Church forcefully and specifically exhorts all the Christian faithful to learn ‘the surpassing knowledge of Jesus Christ,' by frequent reading of the divine Scriptures. ‘Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.'

There are four separate Scripture readings during every Sunday Mass.

With love in Christ.

Why in heaven's name would Catholics read the bible? Just because they invented it as one of their traditions doesn't mean they have to worship it like the Protestants. They have their Pope and priests who all reasonably agree and they don't have to struggle with interpretations and try to work out what the bible is saying. The Protestants on the other hand read it day & night and big deal, look at the 243,973 Christian denominations they have created. I like Catholics because they have improved greatly. Still have a long way to go but I think they're leading the way.

It's been my experience that most church-goers never read the book like a book. They hear quotes out of context and believe whatever people say those quotes mean. Usually its pretty obvious that the people quoting the Bible didn't read it much either.

I just started to read it AGAIN, but this time, I'm almost done. I actually like it. It's not what people think, it's just all common sense and respecting your fellow man. How can a book like that be wrong when we live in a society such as the one we are in right now?

I am not Catholic, and I do not choose to criticize their choice of worship. You should know that the Bible clearly states one of the apostles would start the first true church of God. That church was the Catholic Church. When you set out to insult the religion of another, you commit blasphemy against God.

yes they do, but unfortunately they don't understand it clearly. they believe it but based on the interpretation on the priest and according to their traditions. unfortunately most of these traditions are wrong and nit based on the bible.
Yes they do accept what someone tells them so it is our opportunity to share the truth with them.
