Because blood carries oxygen to your brain. So when you lose blood, your brain loses oxygen and you run the risk of unconsciousness.
If the cut on your arm keeps opening, try pressing ice wrapped in a towel directly to the cut while holding the cut above your heart for a few minutes. Once the blood stops, apply a bandage.
But this cut sounds serious if you're becomming dizzy since it happened.
If the cut still won't stop bleeding or keeps opening, you very likely need stitches so go to the emergency room and get them. But have someone else drive.
It might be a pain, but it's alot better than having to have an ambulance come and get you and take you anyway if you keep getting dizzy or pass out. Hopefully someone else will be around if that's the case.

Blood carries red blood cells which have hemoglobin in them. Oxygen binds to the hemoglobin, and the red blood cells disperse the oxygen to all parts of the body. When there is a significant loss of blood not enough oxygen can be supplied to the body. This is called hypoxia. When you become hypoxic your brain does not get enough oxygen, and a symptom of hypoxia is dizziness. Other symptoms include nausea, seizures, coma, shortness of breath, headaches, fatigue, and even death.

Go to the hospital, it needs stitches. If you bleed too much you can die, you know. Also tie it firmly with a clean bandage to stop the blood, but not too hard, you don't need to cut off circulation from your arm.
Stitches will get you a nice scar, go to the hospital. You already are not getting a lot of oxygen in the brain if you are being stupid about not going!

WHen you lose a lot of blood, your blood pressure decreases. When your blood pressure goes down, so does your cerebral perfusion pressure, which can affect how much blood your brain is getting.
Alternatively, you could be having a vasovagal response to the sight/thought of your own blood. This will makeyou feel woozy.

you get dizzy when you lost a lot of blood because your blood volume decreases so your body compensates by sending blood to your vital organs (heart, lungs, kidneys) so you have less available in your brain, hands, feet (the peripheral areas of the body).

Lack of oxygen which is what the red cells carry. OR it could be partly because you are about to faint at the SIGHT of the blood.

cells do nnot have enough oxygen to perform body functions, and to release energy, so you feel tired.it may be because of lack of water intake or lack of sodium
