If you want to train your memory you can use things like peg words and word association in a manner that your memory is forced to work. There is NOT enough room here to offer everything but I have a memory course which I bought a long time ago that teaches you how to associate things in a funny or violent or zany or sexual manner to remember them. The theory behind this is that this is what the mind seems to keep as the deepest or most intense of memories. Also, using sounds to match the numbers 0 to 9 can allow you to remember things like dates and lists and so on. ONCE you do these training excersises you not only have a few good memory techniques, but your mind actually improves as per its memory because you are "using it" or "excercizing" it. Incidently, if you are wondering about Ginko Biloba or other herbs, there is little evidence to show that this helps the mind - and it is expensive. If it were cheap, I would say go for it. Apparently eating fish helps because of the vitamin and mineral and fatty acids in fish. You should look up health FOOD and MEMORY to see what FOOD (not supplements so to speak) helps keep the brain or mind healthy.

Hello Drizzles! memory is a highly complex function of the brain and it is not yet really understood. At one time it was considered to be similar to a filing cabinet idea and one found things pretty much in the way one would find a file in a cabinet. Neuroscience has evolved since then and the models for memory function are incredibly complex. Having said that we do know that the mind has a maximum capacity to recall 7 chunks of info - after that it appears to be slightly unreliable. So, the idea is to 'chunk' or group as much info together as you can and to do so you can use things known as Mnemonics:
n. A device, such as a formula or rhyme, used as an aid in remembering.
In 1066 Harold got into a fix (The Battle Hastings)
You could also try a technique called 'Mind Mapping' - bit too lengthy to go into here but it involves colors and symbols etc as memory aids - go to this site for more info http://www.jcu.edu.au/studying/services/studyskills/mindmap/howto.html
Good luck!

eat lots of nuts but the trade off is pimples, iron rich food like dark green veggies, a good night's sleep, workout, meditation (praying is a form of meditation) and a positive mental attitude
