What I found that works really well (not 100% effective depending on the severity of the hiccups) is to take a really deep breath and just hold it for a minute while staying perfectly still. Usually if you read or watch tv during the minute, it won't seem as long. I then slow exhale and resume normal breathing. That seems to do the trick.

Common hiccups are caused by a temporary problem with your oxygen/carbon dioxide levels. They can usually be cured by any method that slightly increases the carbon dioxide level in your blood. Breathing into a paper bag works for me.

I once told a G/F that had the hiccups all day that I was getting married to an old G/F. She started crying and her hiccups went away. It didn't do much for our relationship, but it cured her hiccups.

Take a teaspoon of sugar, pour some vinegar on it, then eat it.

I've used this remedy for years and it works.

I don't know hippcup are, but when I have hiccups I hold my breath(not till I pass out) or put sugar on the tip of my tong. that usually gets it.

WHT IF U HICCUP JUS B4 U TAKE THE MIX,,,,U END UP WITH VINEGAR ON UR EYES.....DAMN THTS SOMTIN TO SCREAM ABT.

There are so many remedies; try holding your breath or drink some very cold water.

drink a cup of water backwards..
this one works
put the cup on the upper lip
and lean forward
and drink
it will go away!

drink a cup of water, if still cannot stop, take a deep brath, if still cannot stop, don't think too much about that.it will work
