Take each new one as an entirely new thing. Comparing a new person to an old one is unfair to the new one and could blind you to some of the great things about the new person. You could be so busy comparing them that you miss the big picture on what the new person is all about. You need to get over the old one before you move on to someone new. It sounds like you hooked up while on the rebound. Be alone for awhile. Get to know yourself better and figure out what you want from someone else.

I must be a dummy, it's really hard for me to digest the short handed stuff, but I think I know what you are asking. After the the "previous one " has left, the good in them that you miss seems to become a search for what you want from the next one too. The longer the list is, the harder it is to find that one person, especially one that DOESN'T have the faults too. Just be careful not to cut your own nose off to spite your face. You may miss out on a wonderful person, just because you wrote them off for not opening the door for you, like "Pat" never failed to do.

yes i do think life is unfair. for instance, i have have coccidiodomycosis or valley fever, which cause me pneumonia, which bruise my left lung, it went to my blood stream cause me Meningitis,( swelling of the brain) the treatment for it cause me Avascular Nucrosis ( small blood vessel in you bone shut down) in both hip and left shoulder, then i got a staff infection in the same hip joint that i had the avascular nucrosis, had three surgeries and eventually end it up with no right hip joint and because of the staff infection that i have doctors don't want to give me a hip replacement this is started when i was 25 I'm now 30. Now do you think life is unfair.

life is neither fair nor unfair.its just,in my own perspective, balanced. yes,we do have the so-called guidelines of the people we like.but then, sticking on that may cause you to eventually miss the thrill of life, in your pursuit for happiness..just try to "soar" and discover other..who knows? maybe your "guidelines" might be changed, di ba?
