The biggest question that NO ONE can answer is the reason I believe in God. And that is, If there is no God, then where did everyone and everything come from. And to put it simpler for some, If there is no God where did the very first person come from. The world, the solar system. Man with woman can make babies, BUT where did the first two come from. With these things in mind, I say YES there is a God.

From first-hand experience, I know that humans have a spiritual side to our being. I dont believe in what I hear about Yahweh, the God of the Bible. I dont think He is THE Creator. He is a god of the Hebrew tribes and was once one of many gods of their culture. He was originally their war god, I think. Man made the gods, in my opinion, so the one or ones that you choose to give adoration to is entirely open. I choose ancient Germanic gods and goddesses because they fit me and my life style pretty well. I dont get into Middle Eastern theology. Not the kind of place I would like to get my spirituality from. I believe in evolution, that man made the gods, and that man has a spiritual nature.

Well I believe in God when he was talking to me in my dream and the bible beside me while I'm sleeping was opened itself when I was only 7 or 8 years old! Is suprising me actually when the bible is turning to page where God wanted me to read it. No I'm not lying and I can swear to you that what I'm telling is true. I told my story to everyone, but to be honest not all the people believe what I say, only my parents and my big cousin believe me. That so sad actually to me when some of them say I was actually making a joke but I was actually telling the truth!! I never forget that till now(I'm 17 now). I still kept the bible near my head so I can see the bible turning page again one day.

It's a matter of faith in there being someone or some consciousness directing the universe, that we can pray to, and that is helping make things work out for the best, though He or She may be just as helpless with the world around them, at some grander scale.

Taimur's statement above makes sense too, that the order in the world must have someone keeping it in order, making work out things like the laws of physics, the laws of evolution, and the mere fact that things are as logical as math.

I feel His presence all around me. I doubted His existance for a long time, but once I accepted Him, I could see quite clearly that He's been in my life all along.

I think that questioning is healthy. I think doubt, and even flat out disbelief is completely normal. I carried around a lot of anger and stress for a very long time without knowing how to let it go. I know it sounds hokey, but since I've accepted the Lord into my life again, I've learned how to let it all go and just believe. He gave me many signs that I needed to do exactly that, I just didn't see them for what they were. I still struggle with releasing my anger and tension and being the Christian woman I aim to be, and maybe I always will, but I am not alone in my struggle, and that helps.

So for me, believing in God gives me a sense of peace. It allows me to work towards forgiving those who have hurt me, which is much healthier than carrying around the heavy burden of anger, sadness and guilt. Believing in God encourages me to be good to my fellow man, to give back to my community, to treat others as I would be treated, to just generally try each day to be a better and stronger person.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5) Once I accepted that, once I learned to lift myself out of the rut of "Why me?", I began to lead a happier, more productive life. Personally, I don't see why anyone would choose to do otherwise, but I recognize that they have the right to. I do wish they would find the peace and tranquility that is out there for them, no matter how they find it. Life is too short to walk through it angry.

I believe in God because there were some situations that I got myself into that I know if it were not for god I would probably still be in or maybe even dead or in jail.

i can't find any other reason for humanity being so highly relational. Why do we love, and thrive in community? If we were a mere accident of molocules and gases, then where do our emotions and attachments come from? i believe we are relational because we were created by a relational being. Namely God, who dwells in the relational form of the Trinity.
