No matter whether Im single, in a good relationship, in a bad relationship, have great friends around, have few friends around, live alone, live with friends, live with a boyfriend, live with family, etc etc, I ALWAYS feel alone. And at night it is often accompanied with anxiety. Are some people just like this? I believe in a spiritual dimension to life, but not a god, so this is not the answer for me either. Having people that care about me doesnt fix this emptiness and it really affects me sometimes.

Ya wanna hear something goofy? When I was a teenager, I felt just like you! I would wish to god I was a Siamese twin, just so I wouldn't feel so alone. It is hard to explain, I wasn't really lonely cause I had lots of friends and people who loved me, it's more a feeling that all of them and the whole human race belonged to this,(something) what ever it was except me! I could be in a room full of people yet feel all alone. Then one day I started asking myself: WHAT DO I WANT? As I lay in my dark bed crying myself to sleep, I would ask: WHAT DO I WANT RIGHT NOW? WHAT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL AND FILL THE VOID IN ME? Perhaps something that would make me a part of something! Well I don't really know what to tell you except I volunteered for a suicide hot line, I served underprivileged children dinners, I worked at a mission, helping the homeless, I sat with the elderly etc. and as time passed, the awful feeling of being alone gradually went away! That was quite a few years ago and I haven't felt that way since. I don't know what happened, but what ever it was, it sure worked for me. Maybe it will work for you too! Good Luck!

I think some ppl are just like that, it seems to me that everyone else doesnt mean much to you or that they cant relate to you the way you need to. But the question is, are you unhappy with this feeling or do you not really care and you just want to know why you feel this way? If you can live with it, then dont worry too much about it, but if youre still seeking an answer I'd go see a psychologist or something. For some reason that always seemed to be a fun thing to do.

i believe you have an anxiety disorder.(thats something you need medication for)

i always felt alone , like you , but i grew to enjoy solitude (except sometimes when i feel an irrational fear of nothing in particular, then it goes away) i actually opt to be alone most of the time. i cant tell if this is really my preference or just denial.

anyway what made me enjoy my own company was engaging in reading , and always trying to learn new things.

i think you should speak to someone if you cant reach understanding of your condition on your own.

best wishes.

you have to find what makes you whole weather it be spiritual or physical some people do feel alone all the time but it doesn't have to be that way when you find what you are looking for you will know and that feeling will go away i suggest explore yourself mentally spiritually and physically find out what you need because you are the only one that can make you feel whole.

you feel alone but u have never been alone. There is someone up in the sky, who can feel the empty space in your life, who has been waiting for u to invite him. Believe and acknowledge him today, your life would never be the same again. Try him!!!

sense of emptiness is common in young age,and in females.
this may reflects hidden depression, have you ever took heed of it?if so,then you should seek some psychiatric help.
if not ,then you might be suffering from existential problem,if so,you should seek spiritual help.

It sounds to me like you are depressed. Please see a doctor about this. A therapist will be good too.
