Is not a man a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a nephew, an engineer, a Christian, and a friend all at once?
And is it the nephew or the husband who makes love to his wife? (Don't answer that) Is it the engineer or the Christian who designs the widgit? Is it the son or the Christian who sings in the Choir?
If a man can be a hundred things all at once, why can God not be only three?

"and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" .. probably should be and the Word was a god.. there are two entities.. but one is in charge...try to imagine God doing all the planning and the Word by his power making it happen..Jesus was here always-- he was the Word... some speculate he was also Machelsedek " a priest of the highest order, that had neither father,or mother, or number of days" that even the great Solomon tithed to--- when he was born in the flesh-- he was Jesus.. and when he qualified he was the Christ .. they have always been and always been together.. look in Genesis and the story of Nimrod and the tower of babel -- and the Lord said " let "US" go down and see " dual/ two they are "equal" now-- because the Father gave ALL things and all power to the Son who sits at God s right side.. and the bible says -- what the Father gave to the Son, so the Son shall give to those who love Him... thats a very powerful verse.. man was created to be in Gods family-- and we will be-- with an entire universe to fix up-- how long will that take?

I know it all sounds terribly confusing! John 3:16 says:For God so loveth the world that he gave his only begotten son, and whoever believeth in him shall have ever lasting life.
God is the Father, Jesus the son. God sent Jesus to Earth so that he could feel what it is like to live here and face all the bad things in the world. Jesus did that without using violence. He showed people the way to live in peace. God gave him all of his knowledge so that he could show us how to live in peace also.
Our maker, no matter what county you are from.. wants all of us to be like him. Jesus was the only one who could accomplish that. That is why is sometimes referred to as equal. He never did anything bad. People are violent and mean, and God loves us anyway. He wants us to be like him also, so he tries to teach us good, without forcing it on us. That is the way of a loving Father.
As to Jesus assisting during the creation.. yes.. he was present with God before the Earth was created.
Here's something that most people do not believe, yet some do:
We all existed in Heaven before we came to Earth. We were each asked to come here on our own misson. Jesus was the only one who knew the whole story while he was here. We can not remember our time there, so we cannot be perfect like Jesus. If we learned to love one another equally, then we would be like God.. and we would too be in Heaven. All this is confusing, but you will know the truth when you ask, and then listen for the answer that touches your heart! You will know. The greatest secrets are revealed in the morning breezes. Listen, the wind speaks the truth... in other words.. Ask,.. and listen in quiet times to have more information.

I dont know in which religion you believe but as a Moslim I must say that,it is the point where Christians are mistaking.According to Islam Holy Jesus was a prophet of God.He was a messenger just like Adam,Moses,Jacob,Joeseph,David and Great Mohammad(peace be upon him).God has never married. He is neither a Human nor an animal(Nauzubillah). He is superior to these feelings to marry someone.and if they say that God had his son without any wife then Jesus cannot be called "SON" because son is always formed by combination of male and female.According to Islam God has no parents and no offsprings. He is totally self sufficient and he does not require a SON.I cannot quote Holy Bible because I have not studied it thoroughly yet.

If you have a son, wouldn't he have your qualities?
It said "I and the Father are One" (John 10:30) meaning one in will and purposes.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let US make man in our image, after our likeness...-i think when God said this, they are agreeing on everything that were being created, means God the Father is not the sole responsible for creation. This whole creation is for Jesus being the heir when the time comes.
Philippians 2:5 Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;
8 and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient [even] unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

“Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36) How do these words confirm that Jesus is not Almighty God?
Jesus says that the Father knows more than the Son does. If Jesus were part of Almighty God, however, he would know the same facts as his Father. So, then, the Son and the Father cannot be equal. Yet, some will say: ‘Jesus had two natures. Here he speaks as a man.’ But even if that were so, what about the holy spirit? If it is part of the same God as the Father, why does Jesus not say that it knows what the Father knows?
1st of all Jesus said: He pointed to God as the Source of his life, saying, “I live because of the Father.” According to the context, this meant that his life resulted from or was caused by his Father, even as the gaining of life by dying men would result from their faith in Jesus’ ransom sacrifice.—Joh 6:56, 57.
Jesus’ being called the “only-begotten Son” (Joh 1:14; 3:16, 18) does not mean that the other spirit creatures produced were not God’s sons, for they are called sons as well. (Ge 6:2, 4; Job 1:6) However, by virtue of his being the sole direct creation of his Father, the firstborn Son was unique, different from all others of God’s sons, all of whom were created or begotten by Jehovah through that firstborn Son. So “the Word” was Jehovah’s “only-begotten Son” in a particular sense,
Jesus is also “Mighty God” and “Eternal Father.” This does not mean that he usurps the authority and position of Jehovah, who is “God our Father.” (2 Corinthians 1:2) “He [Jesus] . . . gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.” (Philippians 2:6) He is called Mighty God, not Almighty God. Jesus never thought of himself as God Almighty, for he spoke of his Father as “the only true God,” that is, the only God who should be worshiped. (John 17:3;
Rev. 1:1; 3:14, RS: “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, why did God have to give the revelation to Jesus, if he is God? .
Does the Bible teach that none of those who are said to be included in the Trinity is greater or less than another, that all are equal, that all are almighty? Mark 13:32, RS: “Of that day or that hour no ones knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Of course, that would not be the case if Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were coequal, comprising one Godhead. And if, as some suggest, the Son was limited by his human nature from knowing, the question remains, Why did the Holy Spirit not know?)
John 14:28, RS: “[Jesus said:] If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.”
1 Cor. 11:3, RS: “I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.” (Clearly, then, Christ is not God, and God is of superior rank to Christ. It should be noted that this was written about 55 C.E., some 22 years after Jesus returned to heaven.
A person who is really seeking to know the truth about God is not going to search the Bible hoping to find a text that he can construe as fitting what he already believes. He wants to know what God’s Word itself says. He may find some texts that he feels can be read in more than one way, but when these are compared with other Biblical statements on the same subject their meaning will become clear. It should be noted at the outset that most of the texts used as “proof” of the Trinity actually mention only two persons, not three; so even if the Trinitarian explanation of the texts were correct, these would not prove that the Bible teaches the Trinity.

Sometimes is difficult to understand the trilogy, not only to simple people but to expert also. It is say that Jesus aid God in the creation, and still, some say that the one who talk to Moses in the burning. But there is not a real proof, only interpretation in the Bible.. You can visualize in this way:
Think of a light bulb, the interrupter to turn it off and on, and the electricity who pass between them. They are different, but they can't be apart, Think as God the bulb, Jesus the interruptor, and the Holy Spirit, the electricity. Are 3 different things, but they need each other to work together...To turn on/off the light you need the interruptor, the electricity, goes (source of energy) through the wire to turn on the lights, no of them will work without the other.
Hope that with this explanation it will help you more. And remember when you read the Bible, you need to read it by faith, not bye wisdom.

Jesus is not God. Jesus was a human rights activist, a socialist and a scholar. The different Christain denominations have turned everything he said into a dogma. I don't think there's any evidence that Jesus claimed to be the son of God. I think if Jesus saw what is being done in his name he'd be horrified. As for the Bible, it was written many years after Christ's death, and has been translated and retranslated. It might as well have been translated by one of those internet translation engines which produce nonsensical phrases. Questions of this sort always attract hysterical answers from creationists. I bet there isn't one of them who can satisfactorily answer this one...

Yea, that trinity thing doesn't make any sense.
As to my understanding...
Christ was God's manifestaion, a teacher sent to us to raise us to the next levelof spirituality.
As was Muhamad, Abraham, Bahallua...
A Message from Abdu'l-Baha Written for The Christian Commonwealth and published
September 29th, 1911.
GOD sends Prophets for the education of the people and the progress of mankind. Each such Manifestation of God has raised humanity. They serve the whole world by the bounty of God. The sure proof that they are the Manifestations of God is in the education and progress of the people. The Jews were in the lowest condition of ignorance, and captives under Pharaoh when Moses appeared and raised them to a high state of civilization. Thus was the reign of Solomon brought about and science and art were made known to mankind. Even Greek philosophers became students of Solomon's teaching. Thus was Moses proved to be a Prophet.
After the lapse of time the Israelites deteriorated, and became subject to the Romans and the Greeks. Then the brilliant Star of Jesus rose from the horizon upon the Israelites, brightening the world, until all sects and creeds and nations were taught the beauty of unity. There cannot be any better proof than this that Jesus was the Word of God.
So it was with the Arabian nations who, being uncivilized, were oppressed by the Persian and Greek governments. When the Light of Muhammad shone forth all Arabia was brightened. These oppressed and degraded peoples became enlightened and cultured; so much so, indeed, that other nations imbibed Arabian civilization from Arabia. This was the proof of Muhammad's divine mission.
All the teaching of the Prophets is one; one faith; one Divine light shining throughout the world. Now, under the banner of the oneness of humanity all people of all creeds should turn away from prejudice and become friends and believers in all the Prophets. As Christians believe in Moses, so the Jews should believe in Jesus. As the Muhammadans believe in Christ and Moses, so likewise the Jews and the Christians should believe in Muhammad. Then all disputes would disappear, all then would be united. Baha'u'llah came for this purpose. He has made the three religions one. He has uplifted the standard of the oneness of faith and the honour of humanity in the centre of the world. Today we must gather round it, and try with heart and soul to bring about the union of mankind.
(`Abdu'l-Baha: Abdu'l-Baha in London*, Pages: 42-43)
Fact be, that many religions consider the triligy as evil as all get out. Christ himself, in the bible, said do not worship me, worship the One God. As had every other Manifestaion.
Funny thing, I just tried to search for the word Trinity in the Bible with the King James Bible Search engin and it doesn't find it anywhere in the book.

The thing about God is that he can be and do anything. that's why it's hard to believe that he can be three in one...because we can't do everything he can. it's so unfathomable because we have physical limits, but he doesn't. Jesus was created from God. The Holy Spirit is also part of God. The spirit is the part of the trinity that helps us through the day and to stay in faith. I have to admit that all the bible verses I knew about this have flown from my head, but I suggest finding a bible and looking in the index at the back. look up "trinity" or somthing similar. that will give you places in the Bible that use the word "Trinity." the bible I have is a Zondervan bible, and also a study bible. it's a very good reference. Good Luck!
