Self-esteem comes from accomplishment. Your self-esteem and confidence will grow as you accomplish more and more. So start taking on, and completing, new and challenging activities, like learning a language or learning a martial art. Learn dancing, cooking, computers, hell, anything that you've ever thought of as "that's too hard for me." Most things are not as hard as they seem. It helps to remember that.

The more you take on and complete, the better you'll feel. After awhile, you'll probably forget you even had social anxiety disorder.

By realizing those are actually, in a biological sense, very good survival traits to have and nothing to be ashamed of. Your primal brain is primed and triggered to keep you alive. Assuming you're a believer in evolution theory, all those ancestors of yours survived by not being too cocky and from being quite cautious when approching other possibly dangerous hominids in the area.

Realizing that a good chunk of the human population also has these traits is another good place to start. Nature AND nurture had a hand in this, and you're not alone in whatever experiences may have helped shaped your current state.

The rest...is the human condtion. Still working on that one myself. I'll get back to you on that.

Well, there is this manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The effect on the self-healing power of your body and mind is simply amazing - experienced it myself! :-)

I know it sounds hard to believe - give it a chance.

Just - the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing approx. 220 dollars. It's really worth travelling far.

do what i did, stoped worrying about what other people think, OR WHAT YOU THINK PEOPLE THINK about you, DO WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY, because that is what is going to give you the courage, don't dishonor your life by living in pain, do what makes you happy imagine people arn't even there, so that will give you the courage to talk to strangers and make friends and then eventually meet large groups of people and become a recovered s.a.d. GOOD LUCK!

pick a few role models that you feel are the most influential and relevant to your views on life and then try to mimick that behavior within yourself. remember that people's opinions should never count above your own. and keep your chin up when you walk regardless if you're having a bad day.
