Book a room at the Old English Hotel in Windermere, The Lake District. Beatiful views over the lake, lovely gardens and pool . I got married there a few years back. The Lakes are romantic and great for mountain biking, walking, water skiing , even shopping and pubbing!

Depends on what you want? and where you're coming from...I'm thinking this trip is a bit extravagant? Anyway, I've stayed on the Thames (VERY romantic) and I've stayed in Piccadilly Square at the Le Meridian... Piccadilly is the way to go for me. It's fun, bright, not far from Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the theatre district, plus the cool shops of Carnabie St and many many many little pubs. I have been all over the world and my very best vacation ever was at the Le Meridian there. (I don't work for them!)

I'm a big fan of Stratford-upon-Avon! It's a must-see for anyone who likes Shakespeare, and it's a convenient train ride from London. Go see a romantic show, wander around the cute town (which full of chain stores) and walk along the river. Plus there are lots of B&Bs, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a place to stay.

Glastonbury in Somerset....ancient ruins, an old abbey, neat new age shops, good walking/hiking, meditation classes, museums and romantic bed & breakfasts. My home away from home. Don't miss the Chalice Well gardens, they're very romantic!
