I work in a food packaging plant. We do tests every half hour for salmonella, and if we found it, we'd be shut down until we fixed the problem. I doubt Cadbury has a salmonella problem. U.S. food companies are all governed by the same laws.

1. This salmonella thing is only thought to be in certain types of Cadbury's chocolate.
2. There is a 99% chance that there is no salmonella in them.
3. Anything could contain anything. Just because the shops or companies tell you something is safe or unsafe, doesn't mean you can believe them.
4. If you listened to all of the "advice" and scares about food, you would eat nothing but ice-cream because that seems to be about the only food which no one has said can cause cancer or anything, but then you wouldn't eat ice-cream because it's fattening.
Apart from all that, salmonella is only a type of food poisoning which means you will have a stomach upset and maybe throw up and then you'll be ok.

They took the millions of bars off the shelves, it was only a tiny bit and Cadbury didn't have to get rid of the bars, but thought just to be on the safe side, they should, all the problems are sorted out now, Cadbury's chocolate is safe.

I'm a chocoholic, but I don't eat cadbury. If your sister is a true chocoholic then she can't stay away from it. I suggest you purchase for her different kinds of chocolate that she might like. Make her try it, she might like it. If you can't get your sister to quit being chocoholic then try to make her quit cadbury.

All chocs can be infected with life threatening Microbes if the chocolates are not packaged or stored properly under the desired conditions!!!! Check the chocolate thorughly before eating!!! I have seen MANY OTHER BRANDS being affected by The MICROBES also!! Its not Cadburys alone!! Tell your sister to be cautious as PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE!!!!!

It is only Cadburys that is affected. There are other brands of chocolate out there! Get her to try Galaxy or anything NOT made by Cadbury. She might like it!

Fairy Rie is correct. Cadbury also said that if you feel as though you could have eaten some infected chocolate not to worry about it as it was only a minimal amount.

the salmonela only affects certtain chocs made by Cadbury, i think at their Hertfordshire plant. The smaller bars are ok to eat, theyre made in Birmingham. Tell her to keep away from the big slab bars and from the little Fredo bars - theyre what are affected.

Maybe you should try to get her to change brands. If she's really a chocoholic I don't think she's gonna stop eating chocolate...
