Or (the unbelievers' state) is like the darkness in a deep sea. It is covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds. Darkness, one above another. If a man stretches out his hand, he cannot see it...}
(Qur'an (holy book of Islam) Chapter 24: Verse 40}

======================

This verse mentions the darkness found in deep seas and oceans, where if a man stretches out his hand, he cannot see it. The darkness in deep seas and oceans is found around a depth of 200 meters and below. At this depth, there is almost no light. below a depth of 1,000 meters there is no light at all.

Who would have told this to Muhammad pbuh EXCEPT GOD ALMIGHTY?

Human beings are not able to dive more than forty meters without the aid of submarines or special equipment. Human beings cannot survive unaided in the deep dark part of the oceans, such as at a depth of 200 meters.

Scientists have recently discovered this darkness by means of special equipment and submarines that have enabled them to dive into the depths of the oceans.

No human could have known this 1400 years ago.

Aren't you amazed by this ?

And more amazing is verse 6:125 which describes Altitude or mountain disease when you go high up in the sky fastly (by airoplane), how come it mention the chest tightness due to accumulation of lung fluids and lack of oxygen which was discovered only recently, very amazing.
Thank you.

Though I can't discredit direct divine intervention any more than the next person can credit it, I can safely claim that personal experiences on even a medium-sized body of water could reveal such thoughts. Modern science however does indeed conclude these claims made via Mohammad's analogies as my source (biased though it may be) does detail.

However, the questionable act of using science to debate issues of faith almost leads to a self-limiting and perhaps looping issue. One could argue that the actual CONTEXT of this Quaran passage, the convaying of the experience of the unbeliever through analogy and metaphore and message given to us from it, is far more important than the scientific evidence behind the metaphores used.

You are retarted.

If there was one man who could dive down a little deeper than other people (check the book of world records for diving depth w/o an air tank just to prove my point that it is possible) then he would be able to see it becomes a little darker and find it even harder to see below than to see above...ta da! He just discovered "secret God knowledge" that its dark under water!

Of course amazed, even being a non scientific book the Qur'aan mentionned so many truth that nowadays scientist are discovering, doesn't this gives the proof of the Qur'aan not being from men, but from the One and Only All Knowing Allah(God).

The ongoing WOW! is happening now. It's all amazing all the time the problem with this fact is after a while it all turns into white noise, not so amazing. That is the problem of life.
In response to your question yes I'm amazed, I just wish it would last longer than a moment.

1,400 years ago, people did realize that light only traveled so far. Thats why people back then used many torches to light their path at night instead of just one. So, it's only logic to suggest that light is like that with the ocean as well. The further you go without light, the darker it gets. It's really simple.

Have you ever been in the sea, have you try to look into it, i'm sure that if you had you would have notice that the deeper the darker. Cmon the reason why stories like this are upheld first of all is because of the ignorance of those who hear them. Oh and NO I'M NOT AMAZE.

Not really. Any sailor who looked down at the deep ocean could seen that it was probably very dark down at the bottom of the sea.
