My parents and I are never on the same page. My pops & I get along. But my mother has issues. She is a control freak who still hits me, watches my every move and doesn't let me go out or have friends. I want to move out so very badly. Accept I know they will be upset, and its not like I can tell them its for college, cause my parents move cross country to live where I went to college and it is a disaster. What do I do? Do I feel guilty that by moving out I'm hurting them and stay cause they are my parents or do I move out and finally have place of peace to lay head? I don't know what to do. What would you guys do?

You can try to speak to your mother and your father, all three of you. Tell them that you need some space, some freedom, you need to go out, to have friends...and if they do not let you, you will be forced to move out...Make that their decision:if you go or not ;)...good luck...

You must sit down with both your parents and explain to them that you are an adult and wish to be treated as one, period. This means being allowed to make decisions on your own and suffer any consequences those decisions might entail. You will no longer allow your mother to run your life or you will move out. Be prepared to do just that, and don't let them lay a guilt trip on you.

I am forty three and have lived away from home for at least fifteen years, have a family of my own, and a good job. My mother still tries to make plans for me on the weekends without consulting with me, tells me what she thinks of my neighbors etc. thinks I shouldn't invest in certain things, etc. Makes me laugh now. They will always treat you like a child.........because you are their child And they want to protect you. It's their job.
You will appreciate them more if you move out on your own and see just howo hard it is to deal with every day situations........I say move out.

Ok not that any body can really say what to do because it is your parents and nobody really knows them but sit down and talk to them. Tell them you are 20 and you feel they have done their job by raising you and now you want to go out and raise yourself. Thank them for rasing you because they did raise a smart kid if you are ready to go on with your life.
