You are risking your eyesight by overwearing your contact lenses. you may get lucky this time, next time or forever but why take the risk. You can get a corneal ulcer that can cause severe pain, infection and even blindness. Contacts are a medical device and should be taken seriously. Your optometrist should read you the riot act every time you see them. you are risking your sight, knucklehead.

When you leave contacts in too long, they begin to deteriorate, and the chemicals can be absorbed by your eyes, causing permanent damage. Although it is OK to leave them in a little longer than the package says (I have night and day contacts and wear them for longer than 30 days) wearing ones that are not approved for night and day wear for 5 months is very bad for your eyes, and may cause you to have allergic-type reactions to contacts for the rest of your life. How can you even see out of contacts that old that aren't rigid gas permeable?

aside from the ones already said, leaving contacts for so long can make part of your eyes covered with contacts sink since pressure is applied to your eyes when you sleep.

wow! that's bad. tell tht to ur optometrist and see what he says. he'll prolly yell at u. mine did. lol.
neways, u can cause serious damage to ur eyes if u leave them in, and it can even lead to blindness. i'm lazy too, but it's not worth it to lose ur vision over something as simple as taking them out and putting them away for a few hours.

Retinal damage. Contacts cut back on the oxygen going into your eyes, and when you wear them like that, it can cause permanent damage and even blindness.

Depending on the kind you have and how sensitive your eyes are will determine most of the symptoms you could have.

Some of the most common are as follows:

if you don't take them out to clean you can get an eye infection. your eyes will get dry, eyes will get irritated, many many bad things. i suggest you actually follow your optometrists advice. take care of your eyes you don't want to lose them.
