Whether you like him or not, you have to respect Dr Phil just because of one thing.

He continually asks his guests’ one simple question: "How's it working for you?"

Success in anything comes from FINDING WHAT WORKS then DOING WHAT WORKS.

I am going to reveal to you the “Secret Weight Loss Formula” that Celebrity personal trainers use to get their clients lean and fit in record time.

Before I reveal the secret, first I need to explain to you that there is process that your body goes through to burn body fat.

So how does your body burn fat?

It is a two-step process and in order to lose body fat you need to:

1.Release the fat from the fat cells and only then
2.You can burn the fat

How does your body release the fat from the cells?

Before you can turn your body into a fat burning machine, here’s what needs to happen: your body fat needs to be released from the fat cells. You can accomplish this step successfully with your nutrition program. Here are some specific tips that you can apply right away to achieve that.

1.Eat 4-6 small, frequent meals and never skip meals.
2.Eat natural foods; avoid processed & refined foods
3.Eat lean proteins with each meal.
4.Eat more complex carbs, fruits & vegetables.
5.Drink plenty of water

How does your body burn the fat?

When you go on a restrictive diet and then combine it with excessive cardiovascular workouts. You are destined to reach the dreaded weight loss plateau.

Here is the reason behind the plateau; you have burned more muscle tissue than fat with your workouts (and restrictive dieting). This is the worst thing that could happen if you want long term and permanent results.

Let me explain.

Excessive cardio + restrictive dieting = Less Muscle mass = slower metabolism = Weight loss plateau = Yo-Yo dieting

So how do you break this vicious cycle?

How to burn fat instead muscle mass?

You need to do some MODERATE cardio training. The key word here is moderate.
Combining restrictive dieting with too much cardio can be detrimental and I am sure you have seen those people that are doing cardio on a daily basis and still not getting anywhere. The result is a low metabolism. Low metabolism means, your body fat is not going anywhere, anytime soon. Here is what you need to do:

1.Do some moderate cardio training; the key word here is moderate
2.Never “diet” but consume just a little fewer calories than you do burn on a daily basis (No starvation diets, Please...)

Your muscle tissue is your best friend when it comes to burning body fat. You need to preserve muscle tissues in order to keep losing weight.

Most people go on a starvation diet combined a lot of cardio to lose weight. At first it may seems like this is working because the scale is saying so.

Now think about, scale weight does not tell you if weight loss is from fat, water or muscle tissue. Starvation diets combined with excessive cardio make you lose mostly muscle mass, water weight.

Scale weight by itself is not a good indicator of success.

The solution

To maintain muscle mass you need to:
1.Do some resistance training. (This is not optional, it is mandatory)

The secret

Now that you understand the whole fat burning process, I am going to reveal to you how celebrity personal trainers do to get those amazing transformations. The strategy is to combine all the steps that I outlined so the body works as a unit. First, the trainer makes sure that his client is eating the proper food on a regular basis.

By that, I mean eating so that fat WILL be released from the fat cells. Then and only then they exercise the body to burn the fat. The important idea to take from this is:

"The fat can ONLY be burned after it is released from the fat cells".

If you know anybody that has been exercising like a maniac and they don't seem to go anywhere, now you know why.

The reverse is also true, do you know somebody that is eating properly but they are not including any resistance training combined with moderate cardio. Now you know why their body still looks the same.

All you need to do is to combine a nutrition program, along with some MODERATE cardio program and maintain muscle mass with resistance training. Everything is combined with one goal in mind: Turning your body into an Automatic fat burning machine. It is that easy.

There is a final step to that process that almost nobody talks about.

It is tracking your results and adjusting your strategy.

Remember Dr Phil; don’t keep doing something that is not working. Tracking helps you determine what works for YOU and what does not. Without tracking, you have no idea on how to change your strategy.

Don't like the results you have been getting? Then CHANGE YOUR STRATEGY.

DO NOT continue doing something just because "THEY" say it's the way things should be done. Allow yourself to choose the solution that will work for you, regardless of what it may be. The only way for you to know who is right is to measure your progress and ACTUALLY track your results.

CHANGE IS HARD, but it's also worth it. Not getting results makes change EXTREMELY HARD.

Get support from friends, family or a coach who knows about body transformation. Losing weight is not as hard at it seems once you know what works for YOU.

Drink Water! Stop drinking sodas and juices, there's way too much sugar. Eat small meals throughout the day of healthy stuff rather than really large meals. Exercise in the morning before breakfast because you are more likely to burn the fat you have rather than the calories you just ingested. There were also studies that say if you exercise when you get up in the morning it will help to speed or improve your metabolism. Walk *** often as possible, and park as far away from any store as you can so that you increase your walking. Don't do any extremely strict dieting, it can make you depressed and you are more likely to have lapses.

To be honest, the way I lost weight and got into shape was by joining the Army, but since then I like to run or walk in the woods daily.
Ultimately, Discipline is key! Don't forget to get a buddy that is more fit than you, but not too much, that way she/he will push your limits and you will be able to advance more easily.
Stick to whatever plan and routine you choose and you will succeed.
Back to dieting: Don't start any diet without talking to your doctor first.

Don't forget to lift weights as well. Your muscles will continue to work and burn calories long after you've finished your work-out

Well for one thing, be more confident. Your body is fine, you just need to change your diet and exercise is all :-) Rather then all those fatty foods, try eating something a little more beneficial. Yogurt is something that I find to be both tasty and healthy- go for the yoplait dessert yogurts, they are amazing. Eat 5 meals a day, and only 2 small, healthy snacks. After each meal tell yourself (aloud) that you are full and repeat this in your head till your body believes you. As for drink, limit yourself to just water and natural juices- carbonated sodas are a waste, both diet and regular, they leave you wanting more and are bad for you. As for exercise you could always do the obvious and buy a gym membership, but if you dont have the money or time try some simple aerobic techniques that wont take up much time and are completely free. Time yourself for 15-30 minutes and prepare for an intense workout, do as many push ups as you can for 15 seconds, switch to curl ups for another 15 seconds, then jumping jacks, and finally running in place. Only take a brake for 30 seconds max after every 5 minutes. Taking walks, a bike ride, or anything where your moving will be good for you, so take the stairs rather then the escalator when your out and about! You probably already know what you need to do already-diet and excersise-so just do it or you'll always have that annoying feeling in your stomach as you lie down for bed that tells you what you should have done.

I don't know what weight you will lose before turning 25, when you are almost there now. Think: how long did it take to get to 236? How many years? Do you have any idea how long it will take to get rid of that? Hint: probably at least as many years as it took to gain it...possible longer. A short term commitment to lose it by your b-day, while nice, isn't gonna cut it. You will be in for the long haul. All I am trying to do is get from 192 to 180, and it is proving extraordinarly difficult. I'm saying that it is not impossible, but you have to have the long term view.

Here is a hint. Eat smaller portions, more times per day. Don't eat past 6 or 7pm. Go for workouts of at least 30 min four days a week. There are no magic answers...eat less, excersise more, drink water and milk only. Eat lowfat yogurt as many times a day as you want...eat fruit before and after eating meals (make sure to save room for the fruit). Keep a chart of weekly weigh ins. And most important, waist measurements. Track WEIGHT and WAIST to look for improvements. Good luck!!

Exercising is crucial, and should be done on a regular basis to strengthen the muscles, as well as to keep your body fit and in top shape. Though exercising has been proven to be a very healthy and effective means to bring about weight loss, not everyone will lose weight by exercising. This may come as a shock to you, or even make you disappointed, because you had placed so much effort into exercising - even tried your best to maintain consistency in order to get those pounds off. However, as beneficial as exercising is, it does not produce weight loss half of the time. "How is that? You may now be asking.

The real reason many people are fat has nothing to do with the lack of exercise or down to the fact that they are not on a healthy diet; it is because of parasites living in their colons. Parasites disrupt the regular digestive function of the body; as a result, the metabolism gets hampered, leading to excess fat build up. In many cases, when a parasite cleanse was done, people have reportedly shed huge amounts of their body fat quickly.

That big bulgy stomach is a direct sign of parasite infestation, its no wonder a lot of people have instantly lost belly fat after doing a parasite cleanse. So therefore, a parasite cleanse will cause you to lose weight without the need to exercise.

I am glad you have seriously taken the decision to weigh less. A good dietiacian and a personal trainer is the best advice I can give you without knowing more details.

Do take a physical before you start an exercise regime and do follow your doctor's advice if he explicitely warns you against something.

Half way through "Dont lose heart" if the results are a little slow in showing themselves. As long as you are on the path of healthy living sooner or later the healthy figure will show itself up.

Do browse these sites they have a wealth of information which will give you great ideas as well as very many dos and donts.

First a note to audioslave, who are you to judge???? Now for the problem at hand. You have to give more detail. If you go to school do you have access to a pool? probably the best thing you can do is swim or water arobics because being in the water makes it easier to start an excercise program.. You can also contact your local YMCA they often have scholarships to help with membership fees and they are a christian organization so there is no judgement thing. They will do an assessment of where you are and where you should be, and then give you a plan. Goood luck, I too am trying to lose weight, I weigh 228, am 5'7 but I am very active, swimming, pilates, running, vollyball, ect... and it is hard for me to lose too..

If you follow a vegetarian diet you will lose weight safely and quickly (I dropped 50 pounds). It's also very nutritious and can help with many other health problems. Drinking lots of water helps with weightloss and also try some beginners yoga. It's so much nicer than traditional exercise and you won't feel like you're about to die...LOL...builds nice muscle tone, too.
