WTF, Does it matter where he's from, the lady asked a simple question. If you don't know, don't respond. Idiot.

Really its just practice, practice, practice and then some more!
I'm assuming you already know how to make a simple braid and once you get the hang of it, its not that hard. Have someone show you once or twice and then buy a doll to practice. I was in you same shoes once, i am mixed and have pretty manageable hair but my daughter is mostly african and I had to learn this way. Good luck!
Oh yeah and if you buy a doll from the store, try to find one with somewhat textured hair. Braiding a white persons hair and braiding black people's hair is two different worlds!

There are so many places to go but it depends on where you live. I recommend that your son-in-law goes to the nearest big city and find a black hairdressers who will do his hair for him.
Another alternative is if he sees anyone whose hair he likes, just ask them. If it's their relative, then they'll most probably want to pass on the details to support.
Or go to cornrows.co.uk for more information if you want to learn it yourself. Buy a doll and practice practice practice. But bear in mind that Black hair is different to cornrow (or canerow as the Caribbeans and Black British say) than White hair. Good luck!

Try asking at your local hairdressers, or further education college (where they do hairdressing courses, as the sometimes include bits on dealing with afro/caribbean hair).
One of my colleagues has got a daughter who is mixed race, and she just practiced on how to do corn rows.

it takes time and patients , the best i can tell you is to search the web to see if they have pictures somewhere that can show you how, once you see it done you can practice
