my mother has been a christian for a long time and she left the church she was attending because the church leader wasn't living right. she isn't a member of a particular church but she is still spiritual.
i just turned my life back over to God and I need to get baptized again(when i was a child, i was baptised).
i grew up in a holiness church. so, could my mother do the baptism?

It depends upon the rules of the particular sect that is performing the rite.

One is generally baptized into a specific denomination, e.g. one is baptized and becomes a member of the Catholic Church or a Southern Baptist, or a Greek Orthodox, etc. The denomination of course decides what is included in its own ritual, where it can be performed and who is authorized by the denomination to perform the ritual.

Baptism is the public witness of a person's faith.

I was baptised at a public beach and we had a small service on the beach. It was a wonderful occassion. The baptism was conducted by a junior minister.

Does it have to be a minister? The bible says that we are all, as believers, are ministers of the word.

Again what is your mothers wish? I believe that the witness of baptism is as fully blessed being done by an ordained minister or another mature Bible believing christian.

If God is leading her to be baptised then let it be in the way she prefers.

It depends on the religion, or the specific church, it probably does need to involve a minister or some type of religion leader.

for catholics, you need not be an ordained minster to baptize a person, but you must be in a chuch because holy water is needed.
