Becose the people that did the Da Vinci Code intentionaly tried to get christains up in a fuss about it through various tactics...
They whanted a lot of free press from christians freaking out.... Even if they are making a lot of fuss about how bad it is, there getting the word out a lot.....
It's quite obvius... well before the movie came out they showed a lot of comershals about the Da Vinci Code.... but didn't say it was a movie or didn't say it was fiction.... they made the comershal look like it was anounching some docementory on some new discovery that would be coming soon.......... then nothing untill just before the movie came out.
They didn't have to do many adds becose christains got the word out about the movie for them, and the fuss they made atracted the news..... so they got a lot of people to know about it and that came to see the movie with out ever having seen an add.

I have personally had people tell me the Da Vinci Code is
true. Now they know that in order to purchase the book they
had to get it from the fiction section of the store. But it didn't matter to them, because they decided it was true. When you
have a large number of adults insisting that something is true
even though its not, and even though the author has stated
that it is fiction, the church starts to get concerned.

It's the Catholic Church that says that. Did you know it is banned in Rome? And it's all because Mary of Magdalene is believed to have been Jesus companion. Read, The Gospel of Mary of Magdala, by: Karen L. King. It will give you so much information, I'm sure you will be suprised at what the Catholic Church did to her reputation. Or from thier track record lately, maybe you won't.

Gullible people who haven't had the benefit of religious teaching can believe the strangest things.
There is no truth the this story. I also heard people were snoring during the show. Some people are ready to believe the worst about the Catholic Church.
If I weren't a Catholic I would become one.

I think I can answer that for you; see assuming what the Da Vinci Code says is true, Jesus wouldn't be who the Bible says he is. Because he sinned and wouldn't be the son of God; meaning that he didn't die for our sins, therefore meaning that we'd all be going to hell. So, it really goes against the Christian belief (and a lot more offensive than a cartoon). Hope it helps! :)

the devinchi code is only fiction. but is written as if fact so can misslead many even those who call them selfs christian are asking questions.
the bible is very clear Jesus was not married he had female followers but there is not sugestion he had a relation ship with any that would not have happened in the Jewish rulls. he taught about marraige and invadelity so how cout he have done either with it not have being mentioned in the bible.
But generaly the church and christians ignore cartoons and insults which we see plenty of it is not the christian way to fight
