He is the first guy ever to come up to me and ask me to go out with him he asked me to dinner. I turned him down as i was tired of men who i felt were all dogs! Then i saw him again he was drinking a beer on his sisters balcony he offered me one i accepted and we started talking as friends. Wow we've got so much in common from both loving scarey movies, corn, beer and tabasco sauce to are birthdays are almost the same date his bday is 2 days b4 mine. Also we are both going through custody/visit issues w/ our ex's but he was married and i wasn't. This guy has a good paying job and a nice home that he owns and his kids are just about grown so no baby mamma drama!!!!!!he told me that i brighten up his gloomy life and he looks forward to having a beer with me after work and seeing me everyday. This guy is 42 im 28 but i was thinking that older men r more mature & not n 2 head games like guys my age. My sister who is 30 only dates older men i guess 4 that reason i like him n e comments???

Here is what I've learned. I'm 26 and I've dated guys all the way up to the age of 38 and I've learned that ALL men play games young and old...Most of the older guys I've dated are just better at the games because they have been doing it longer which is why you are so taken with this guy.
Then there are the older guys whose games are so obvious that it makes you wonder why they aren't better at the games.
Anyways, it's not about the age, but about the man himself. So maybe you found you a good one, or maybe he is just better at the game than the guys our age. Either way, only time will tell.
Good luck to you.

If we look at statistics, we see that young people tend to be less mature then older people. However, this is subjective. I consider myself to be very mature for my age. I'm only 25 right now, but I've always been looking for a serious girlfriend and not just some fling. That's how I've always been.
Not all guys my age are dogs. In fact, a lot of my friends are decent guys. I think the problem is that a lot of women get fooled by guys they think are good, but end up being jerks. And some women prefer jerks.
Age shouldn't matter. If you think going out with a 42 year old is acceptable, then that's all that matters. Just don't count out guys close to your age claiming they are all pigs. You're just not looking in the right place. :)

Are you kidding? I won't even look at a guy who isn't at least 15 years older than me, and even they act like adolescents half the time, they just have way nicer toys.
I am 25, and a 40 year old guy is just about right. They are way better lovers, treat you with respect and have the money and time to spend on you. We mature so much faster than guys, you need to have a big age difference. When I was in high school, I was dating grad students, and in college my professors. Now it's the middle management business men..

Depends on the guy.
What always amazes me about females is that you can have your mom tell you the guy your dating is a creep. Your friends all tell you he's a creep. But for some reason you still go for him.
It's like the current fad with girls these days going after thugz because they think it's so KEWL. What's that song, "I'm lookin' for a thug" or something to that affect?
Let me see if I got it straight. You want to go out with a guy who looks like he'll snap at the bouncer of a bar at any second, then take a girl and throw her down into the back seat of his Escalade and pistol whip her before raping her?
Hey, whatever bakes your buns, hon.

Older guys are just more comfortable with themselves and don't see a need to play games because it's a waste of time. After the first lie is told the rest of the conversation is a waste of time.

Sounds to me that this guy that is older just may hit the spot! You sound like you are tired of all of the B.S. that people love to put on others. I say there is nothing wrong with the age difference.
Especially with you being almost thirty yourself. The man likes you...go for it!!!!

Age doesn't matter its the maturity level. An older guy could be more immature than a younger one. If you like this guy and YOU don't have a problem with his age thats all that matters.

Older men are just wiser to your needs. They know what to say. Just because he is older doesnt mean he is more mature. If a guy wants to play around, he is going to do it, just as a woman would if she wanted to. I know alot of older guys who cheat, just as i know alot of younger guys who cheat. Its all in the type you choose, im 28, have a daughter, and have never cheated. There are guys in my same boat that do cheat though. Good luck.

If you are attracted to him...go for it. It sounds like he has his act together and that is what you are looking for. Not all younger guys are players, but they want to have a good time before settling down. Besides, females mature faster.

It's true. Older men, especially in their 40's are usually done with the drama and games. Just be careful though. you never know if his intentions are pure!
