Ooooh, my husband is going through the same thing! His dentist did a lot of "cutting" on his gums to get his wisdom teeth out. He even had to get some antibiotics for infection. It was his first extraction and he was really scared of a dry socket, too. Usually, if you just had a tooth pulled (not the wisdom teeth) and it wasn't a complicated procedure (you would know - you would have had to go back for MORE pain pills), you should be able to eat solid foods within a couple of days. You have a hole in your mouth, now. Try swishing with water. It may just be some kind of food in there. Good Luck! And happy eating!!

Yes go ahead and eat something nothing reallyt scolding hot mildly warm is okay.. After you get done eatting then swish your mouth out with water and get a tea bag regular lipton tea get it wet and put it over the socket.. It will prevent dry sockets. Hope this helps :-)

you should be fine. i was refereeing and eating regualr foor 2 and a half days after all four of my wisdom teeth were removed. my mouth hurt every now and again and i could open it as wide as i was used to but it all goes away. if the white thing gets bigger or it starts to hurt a lot more i would say go back to the dentist / oral surgeon and have them take a look.

My dentist told me that I could eat anything I felt like eating except for the first day, he said to keep it soft then. Dry socket isn't caused from eating stuff, it's caused from smoking, drinking out of straws, stuff like that. You should be fine to eat solids.

dude, go as long as you can without it, I would say an extra week to be safe. Stick to yogurts and all that, TRUST ME. I accidentally sucked out the blood clod by eating food too early, not only did that set back the healing but caused it to become infected, which made for one of the most painful MONTHs of my life.
Good luck man.

If you get dry socket you just go back in and they pack it with this herb stuff and in a few days it's all better. Trust me, I just went through it.

After 7 days you should be in the clear. They only worry about that for the first week anyway.
