I am sorry are those coming in from Mexico Illegally the educated ones?
A work shortage will help Americans -it becomes an employee market and not the other way around (employers market which it is now). Than more benefits would be offered to attract employees. History!

It's a three parter actually. There will always be a demand for low wage menial job workers (generally filled by uneducated, poor, or illegals). There is currently a demand for illegals to fill those jobs in the US because the american poor make more on welfare than multiple below minimum wage jobs. You have to:
1. get rid of illegals creating lots of open low wage jobs.
2. reduce/cut-off/time0limit social programs like welfare that prevent poor Americans from behaving as illegals in America do in the US job market.
3. Remove/reduce minimum wage & union interference that prevent employers from legally employing low wage workers & operating a minimally profitable business at the same time.
THEN, over time wage pressure would naturally rise & we'd be competitive with the rest of the worlds labor pool on a true free market basis. All it takes is tough love & sticking to the law!

They should have the sense to work and learn then. There are so many programs to help uneducated people but no one takes advantage of it do they. Illegals do not look at a construction job or a cook position and say that is not for me I will wait for something better to come along. Furthermore as a restaurant manager I have found that the uneducated are not willing to work as hard, and demand more money. If they have a job they should work to better themselves not put the blame on the illegals that just gives them another excuse.

So does that mean that the word illegal means Mexican. There are hundreds of races, which make this melting pot the dream of many and unless you are of full Native American decent you might just find that you yourself could be deported. As for as your question Skills and talents are not always learned from text. It is the ambition and dedication in a person that I feel any empolyer would look for in a person. This applies to Mexicans, Asian, Blacks, those uneducated and yes even the Whites.

Hmmm..well i say uneducated Americans but we would have to change our ways. Our society seems to live off of kicking people while their down and trying to keep them behind and in their place. Society should be changed to a structure like they use in Japan. They go off of the basis that the highest person in the company can make no more than 5 times what the lowest makes. So if the lowest made 20,000 a year the highest amount made would be 100,000 a year. Maybe then things wouldn't cost so much and people would be able to afford the things they need. I mean what good is being American if you can't afford to buy food, meds and any other necessities to keep yourself alive to be someone like my grandfather, who when he died at 85, God rest his soul, was still saying he was an American who helped fight for our freedom and proud to be one. So in ending if i had to choose between uneducated americans or illegal immigrants i would choos Americans and hope our society changed to help our own people so i could stand tall and healthy to proclaim i am an american and i'm proud to be one!

At least uneducated Americans can speak some English. I'm presently working with very uneducated Americans as a job skills instructor. Americans are eager to learn and get to work. They know they have education barriers but having a command of the spoken language is a firm foothold to build on. Charity begins at home.....so does fidelity.

Uneducated Americans, by far!! They're here legally and usually can speak and understand English. Deportation isn't going to create a shortage of workers; it will give unemployed citizens a chance to get real jobs. How can anyone support hiring illegals and paying them under the table, so that OUR taxes go to pay for their health and education?

I would have to go for the uneducated Americans, for the reason you mentioned. Ya know before I realized that, what they say about the flood of Mexicans who illegally immigrated into th U.S. , that they are going to take back several S.W. States including my Arizona I didn't give a hoot. But shortly thereafter I realized that these Mexicans were everywhere, and they seemed pretty well organized, they were working , buying & driving trucks & cars with insurance, and they had obtained Arizona Drivers Licenses, at that point it was a little late!

Yes, it would create a greater demand for workers. However, we need to be careful about that . . . if businesses see any advantage to be had in relocating to another country, they just might do it. We've already lost a lot of production jobs to other countries. I'm afraid that if there were a major war, we could not win because we do not have the facilities to produce everything we use. So far, people have shrugged off the whole issue of outsourcing because the jobs being replaced are relatively low-paying ones. However, those are some of the most important jobs for maintaining this country's infrastructure. We will need to give businesses of all kinds valuable, positive incentives for remaining in this country if we are to remain a self-sustaining nation. I'm not sure what those incentives would need to be, but there need to be more of them than there are presently.
