jeff lebar is burried in or around the kinston area. i need to find info about the various graveyards. he was my parter (in not just crime) and the family while well meaning, they have not kept much contact with me and my kids. i am hoping someone will know a phrase or series of words that will allow my internet search to be successful

Unless someone has transcribed recent graves, or his obituary is on-line somewhere in a newspaper, he may not be on the Internet. I tried
["jeffrery lebar" kingston]
["lebarr, jeffery" kingston]
with no results. You could write to the provincial board of health for a death certificate. They usually have a line about who was incharge of the funeral. The funeral home, in turn, would know where he was buried.

The trick is to keep changing terms. If one search term doesn't work try another - like using "cemeteries" instead of "graveyards" or "Jeffrey" or "J" instead of "Jeff".

You could also check the Kingston newspaper for his obituary, the records office, and possibly even the library would be able to help you.

Go to the World GenWeb for Canada at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~canwgw/

or the link for Ontario

http://www.geneofun.on.ca/ongenweb/

It might have some links that would be helpful!

You might also go to www.rootsweb.com and click on their message boards or join a mailing list for Ontario and post a query. I have found the Rootsweb Mailing lists to be very helpful.

http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/CAN/CAN-ONT-ONTARIO.html

To join send an email to CAN-ONT-ONTARIO-L-request@rootsweb.com with only the word subscribe in the body and the subject of the email. After you receive an email that you are subscribed you can submit your email to CAN-ONT-ONTARIO-L@rootsweb.com

Tootsweb Ontario Message board is:

http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.canada.ontario.general

I would ask in the query:

Need Obit or Burial info for Jeff (Jefferey) Lebar died approx. ???? in Kingston, Ontario area. He was ??? years of age. Thank you for any help you can give.

I would also try http://www.raogk.com/ontario.htm
Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness for Ontario

hope this helps!

I think if you find out if there are any news papers in Kingston then his obituary will probably be in one of them. I am assuming his family is from there? I seached the Toronto Star News paper however you didn't give us a date to go on so I didn't find anything. Sorry

u'll have to go throught public records in the city he died in, and/or probley call the grave yards and ask if -name- is listed as being burried there.. all graveyards have a record of who's burried where on thier land, a lotta money gets burried w/ those ppl.
