My Mom & I drive a 91 Ford Aerostar Van.. we just got a total fixing on our car.. EVERYTHING was fixed. except two things: neither of our windows roll up, and our back seat sliding door wont open. We closed it one day [normally] and it never opened again. we've tried tugging, pulling.. everything. we thought maybe our backseat was a little dirty and something got jammed.. but i cleaned the whole van and i dont see anything down there. and about the windows, theyre just funky, and my mom says they need a new motor? becaue theyre automatic? i dunno. if you guys have any suggestions.. please give them. thanks!

when i say the windows need a motor.. i mean the tiny little motor that makes the window go up & down. not a new motor for the car itself.. haha thanks

The sliding door sounds like it could be the door came off the track, the lock broke when it was shut and its stuck in the lock position.

The windows do need new motors. The aerostars were known to have them wear out on the windows.

Autozone, internet, junkyard will be your best bet for prices on motors. Dealer prices will be high.

The door I would check with lock smiths and body shops to see who can help you. Most likely they will have to remove the inside door panel to see what is up and to release the door.

Your window motors may be stuck if the window is all the way up or down. You can change the motors or remove the door panel and hit where the motor is while moving the window switch, and it might start working.
The latch on the back part of the sliding door is stuck.
Spray penetrating oil on it as much as possible, later have someone try opening the door, while someone else is hitting on the latch in the back part of the door.

Probably just a fuse if BOTH windows stopped working simultaneously. Try penetrating oil on the sliding door latch and rails. Did you know that FORD stands for:
Fix Or Repair Daily
Found On Road Dead
Frickin' Old Rebuilt Dodge

as far as your sliding door concerns sounds like the latch is binding and the power windows sounds like you have blown a fuse or you got a bad switch.

You don't need a new engine for the car, but you might need a new mechanism for the door itself. Plastic parts wear out.
