You're right. I doubt Christianity to be the true religion. I'm Wiccan, have been all my life.

Sorry, but the bible in it's entirety can be refuted.

Um, Shiningami Gurl? In my religion, we are taught that to know thyself is to know the Goddess. So, if I know myself, I know her. You are wrong.

Wow, Jorginson, what a great idea! I'll get right on that. You know, considering I have no problem going out in my yard and hugging a tree. Oh, wait, I already did that today, guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Christianity is based on God and God is the Creator of all things. Now if you have a hard time believing that and would rather believe the big bang theory, for example, then give this a thought: why is it that scientists say all the planets and stars came into orbit after the big bang AND now have proved that some of the planets spin in a different direction then the sun? If the big bang theory is correct wouldn't all the planets spin in the same direction? Which leads to the next thing: Do you really think we came from a tiny micro thingy that was a remain of this BANG..... maybe a rock that somehow became a monkey and over hundreds of years "magically" turned into this intelligent human being? If so then why is it that there are still gorillas and monkeys around today? Is it that they are the more unfortunate ones? You think somewhere down the line their children's children, maybe, will "catch up" to the rest of the crew and become humans to? No because that's the way God has created monkeys, to be just that and humans to be humans. Just like He created the earth, the planets and all the stars. He created you and me and gave us a chance to accept him or not. Now what you decide to do is really up to you but God is real, everything around you proves it true... what else is there to prove?

There is no way, exactly. Christianity is stupid. People who say the Bible have no idea how the bible came about. The first Bible wasn't written until 300 years after Jesus died. The first part of the Bible wasn't written until 70 years after, which is the Book of Mark. The bible has been changed thousands of times and their are thousands of versions. Even though we know the Bible has been changed, we used the changed one because it fits them better. Alot of the stories in the bible were not added until way later. Such as the story where Jesus says "He who throws the first stone be without sin wasnt added until a 1000 years after he died. People say faith is not something you should approach with logic, its practically saying dont think or know about your religion or how it came about before blindly following it. The only thing they do when you confront them with these truths all they say is at least i know where I'm going. They say their right because, we cant prove that god doesn't exist. It is because its impossible to because you believe he can do anything he wants. How can you prove something wrong if its supposedly infallable. Yet they cant prove that god does exist.

If anybody wants to fight about this I will be happy to. I find it funny when people dont know as much about religion as I do when they believe it.

1. It cannot be refuted that the Christian Church has contained the most hypocritical, atrocious, and foolish leaders and members from day one (one of the apostles got the founder killed). It has consistantly made itself look stupid by interpreting it's own fiath poorly. It has consistently made terrible decisions that should have caused it to self-destruct. Yet the group has persisted in it's identity and organization for nearly 2,000 years. Catholic Christianity now stands as the largest global organization of humanity. That is a wonder of human history and accomplishment in and of itself.

2. It cannot be refuted that the first Christian martyrs did not die for their belief in a philosophy or ideology (as other martyrs have) but for their proclamation of an event they witnessed or were convinced of second hand; that a man had risen from the dead. They subsequently were tortured to death with their families in the most brutal of ways. The most logical explanation is that they knew this event to be true.

3. This surfing, philosophy professor at Boston College, Peter Kreeft, has a lot more to say on the subject. So check out his lectures in the audio portion of his site, www.peterkreeft.com

What about creation? What about yourself? How do you think you got here? Do you believe in evolution? If so, then I'm going the wrong way. As for "christianity", I can understand why so many are against it. My goodness, the "blindness" that many are in today. I can't believe that these people can say they're Christian, yet they don't even seem to read exactly what the bible says. Many are so misled that they believe what others have told them without searching for the real answers themselves. "Blinded the minds of the unbelievers" is the one "who keeps transforming himself into an angel of light." So to give you a solid piece of evidence - and since it seems you don't agree with the bible, what more can I say? Many professed Christians don't follow the bible and many follow pagan worship. So no wonder many are confused if Christianity is the true religion. All I can say is that the bible speaks for itself but there have to be humble people who want to read it and to find out the truth about God and mankind.

You may not agree with the bible but...the bible does not agree witht the modern view that there are many acceptable ways to worship God. Eph. 4:5 says there is "one Lord, one faith." Jesus stated that "narrow is the gate..."Matt.7:13. Repeatedly the Scriptures refer to the body of true Christian teachings as "the truth" and Christianity is spoken of as "the way of the truth". (1 Tim. 3:15). True Christians should not be self-centreed but should be eager to share their beliefs with others. The bible should be the right standard against which to measure one's religion.

How can you know which religion is right? What are it's teachings based on? (men or from the bible?), Is it making known God's name? (John 17:6). Is true faith in Jesus Christ being demonstrated? Is it largely ritualistic, a fomality or is it a way of life? Do it's members truly love one another? Is it truly separate from the world? (worship God in a manner that he approves requires that we keep ourselves "without spot from the world." Clergy and other members are involved in politics, and many people's lives are largely built around materialistic and fleshly desires and not on God. Do it's members actively witness concerning God's Kingdom?

That is how you will find the true religion and base evidence on these things, then you can find solid evidence that can't be refuted as to who is a true Christian or even if Christianity is the true religion.

Ya, I totally can. Aww who am I kidding. Not even the most cracked out insane sciene fiction writer could have come up with so much complete trash. I think we should all believe as we wish as long as we keep it to ourselves, have a sense of humor, and trash each others relgion because it challenges us and makes us laugh.

I am starting a new religion. We worship whoever we want. This week is it Natalie Portman. We treat people with respect, but point out their flaws to get a cheap laugh. Each sermon is Bring Your Own Booze and it just a open mic stand-up comedy show. When we leave, we live our lives within the law and treat people with basic respect until they tick us off. Then we get on their case until they cry.

Sorry for using your question as a forum. I just like to babble

not true the Bible is flawless and heres how you can prove its true but you have to a little deeper for the answer, come into the deep waters and be free! The Bible explains that we are in a spiritual battle and that demons and angels are battling for our souls and that these demons are sent to kill rob and destroy our lives so you must look at the effects of the curse in our lives and see behind the scenes what the demons are doing. NOW HERE IT IS THESE ENEMY SPIRITS WILL NOT GO AWAY AND LEAVE YOU ALONE UNLESS YOU USE THE NAME OF JESUS AND COMMAND THEM TO. if you do this in the name of allah or buddah or any other they will not leave you alone so when your demons come to get you in the night use the NAME OF JESUS AND YOU SHALL FEEL THE OPPRESSIVE BLACK MAGIC FORCES OF HELL LEAVE YOU ALONE ,that's how can distinguish any other religion because the bible gives you weapons in the spiritual realms! secret knowledge of the eternal purpose. read it don't listen to what anybody says God wants each to read it and decide ....Free will remember! star in John in the new testament!

All of the three abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam and Judaism) are faith-based; meaning there is no tangible direct evidence to support them. There are ancient ruins, monuments, sites, etc. but in reality there's no smoking gun like a burning bush or Noah's Ark (which would actually prove all three since they all acknowledge the story of Noah).

In the design of a religion, this would be optimal as a God since you would want someone to base their following on blind faith versus direct evidence; the ultimate demonstration of belief. It's kind of like love, you can feel it but you cannot create a tangible representation of it beyond how you feel and act on it.

People instead chose to look for evidence in the writings (Quaran, New Testament, etc.); each of the writings has been scrutinized to a great degree for hundreds of years by thousands of scholars and no outright falacy or contridiction has been found. They all represent matured, consisten and well-written documents. Granted there's debate on the meaning of certain passages, but there's no statement like "a 20 mile high mountain on the moon" exists etc.

In the end, the true religion is the one that wakens your heart to your purpose. In the case of my athiest friend, no religion. It's to each person to find their own.

I would check out http://www.belief.net and start searching.

When I think of heaven, I get goose bumps, that proves it's true.

In a vulgar way, I can prove that sexual Ecstasy exists, but the bump is more localised.

I apologise for the less than graceful answer, but I have to use words that the asker is familiar with. And in this case, Faith and Grace don't seem to be an option.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the true religion," but Christians, Jews, and Muslims worship the same God. They just call God by different names. Wiccans stand alone as outsiders. Sad really.

EDIT: Historians are not debating whether Jesus existed. We know from historians of those ancient times that he did exist.

Hon,
We are all on a spiritual journey, vision quest, spirit trip....

. What ever you believe is right for you right now.. We grow as we go. God isn`t finished with us yet..

There is no, and never will be PROOF until the end..

I happen to think we all worship one god. No matter what you call him/her/it.

After all, He did make the different languages at the tower of Babel and no one could understand the other. Surely God is multi-lingual..

God Bless and Hugs from Texas,, {:-)
