That is called orthostatic hypotension. Actually, it is because the blood is rushing out of your head that you are dizzy. This can be the result of a number of medical problems, or developing problems, including anemia and hypothyroidism. It can also have something to do with not drinking enough liquids or not enough salt. Your diet may very well be contributing to it.
Now, as for the question about splotches of white, you are indeed on the way to passing out. The pressure sensors (called baroreceptors) trigger your heart to pump harder, but they don't always catch things in time. It is possible to pass out from this condition. It's best to get up slowly.
Talk with your doctor about it. This is something that should be taken care of before you get hurt with it.

You should def go to your dr. I was having that problem and kept ignoring it until I finally did pas out and end up cracking my head. It was from a heart problem. The walls of my heart touch when it starts beating harder(which happens everytime you stand up) and when the walls touch it maked your heart slow down really fast. Which in turn makes the blood flow drop and causes dizziness and graying out(if not completely passing out). Try getting up out the bed slowly. Sit up slow and then stop for a few seconds then continue to stand. This gives your heart time to regulate your blood flow. Make sure you tell the dr about everything that happens. You might want to read up on Neurocardiogenic Syncopy, that is the medical term for it. It is controlable with or without medication.

I know what the problem is because I get it when I do this. Don't do this anymore o.k.? What it is that you need to stop doing is getting out of the bed so fast, you don't give your blood time to circulate through your body enough, not to mention also that your heart rate is extremely low when just waking up from laying down sleeping and you don't have enough oxygen to carry over to your blood, and again like I said before your heart rate is slow and very quickly you sped it up. Don't ever do this, that is extremely dangerous. You can pass out, have a stroke, heart attack, go into a coma even.

I think it's lack of oxygen in your blood or something. You should see a doctor. My sister also have been feeling that last year. And what she needed was blood transfusion. But, I don't really know about you. Different disease or sickness may manifest in same way, so you should see a doctor so that you will be diagnosed and treated correctly.

Well, I would have originally said diet, but perhaps you are having blood pressure issues? Maybe it would be a good idea to monitor your activities and then bring these issues to a physician.

You sound like you have an iron deficiency (anemia) you get iron from meats, so you should take some vitamins to replace it. GO to your doctor just to be sure, but that's what it sounds like! : )
