All vets should be treated fairly and equally. Sufficient funding should be a high priority to help all vets, not just Viet Nam vets.

I tried to put on a play at the Veterans Administration site in Northport, New York and have the gross receipts of my company, NEW FIVE STAR MILLENNIUM ENTERTAINMENT, INC., go to helping the active members of the military and returning vets. I was told "NO".

And, the reasons given to me were a smokescreen to allow the auditorium to be used for non-military political fund raising for candidates seeking public office.

Veterans were pushed aside for the benefit of politics and politicians. The Northport, New York Veterans Administration is a joke.

I can't speak for any other vietnam vets but as for myself I don't want any recognition but what I get from fellow veterans. I mean I think that there was a point a few years ago when people started thinking that maybe we werent the evil baby killers that the anti war movement made us out to be and the whole country tried to "make up " with nam vets. To me all is forgotten...it's over. All I care about now is these great young men and women serving today and that we all let them know how much we appreciate them.

In my opinion the vietnam vets have never gotten the appreciation that they deserved from the day that they came home and after talking with a few and hearing how they still feel like they have not been acknowledged for what they went through it really makes me sad. All of our soldiers should know that we as a country are proud of them for the sacrifices that they made and anyone who rolls their eyes at this comment or blasts some smart azz comment should try walking in just one day of the foot steps that these people went through. It always bewilders me as to how people can get on here and be so heartless with slams on our troops but Im guessing that it's an inherited idiot gene or something. In any case I hope that if there are vets that feel forgotten or unappreciated that at some point they realize that there are americans that know just how important they were and still are. God bless all of you.

They deserve as much recognition as any war veteran. Not more, not less. The way the Vietnam vets have been treated especially the disabled is disgraceful.
