Let's assume in the Bible: God = Sun; Earth = Garden of Eden; Earth = Hell (if we don't take care of it); End times = Global Warming/ weather pattern changes. Whether Earth remains as Eden depends on our ability to put aside our differences (i.e., achieve World Peace), and deal with the most immediate threat (i.e., Global Warming). If we are unable to do this, the Earth may look like Venus or Mars (which has been hypothesized to once have had life) in the not-to-distant future. If this is the actual true underlying story in the Bible, we should be concerned right now. Thoughts?

Go read Astrology. It predicts the future too. Both the Bible AND Astrology are vague enough where if you want to believe you can easily get it to fit.

Absolutely right.

Yes the words from the bible do come from a past civilization.

If you read the bible you will find prophesies, and warnings. Read Matthew 24 and the book of Revelation.
Although these are not the only passages or book that describes anything in prophesy or warning, you would need to do some research on your own. even in the old testament (Moses and Noahs times) warnings and prophesies were given to those to who lived in Jesus time.
As you read Matthew 24 just think about what you see our world today and what was said about what was going to happen today.

Biblically, you are somewhat correct. god=sun, garden of Eden=fictional land of plenty (not earth as a whole), and hell=death.

That said, the ancients knew more than we tend to give them credit for. The whole idea of gods evolved from ancient astronomy. The history of civilization involves periods of enlightenment followed by dark periods. The dark periods have been caused by famine and by religious zeal.

Perhaps, just perhaps, we have passed the critical threshold of knowledge and need not ever see another dark age. I'm not very hopeful of that though. The age of reason seems to be reversing.

It is a possibility - the Bible was written very long ago, and by various people. It has lost some meaning in translations, etc. We should be concerned now whether or not this is true - because we are ruining the earth.

The sun/earth doesn't have the abilities to change a man's heart, to heal sicknesses and diseases, to answer prayers, to break a man's heart to tears, and to cause one to feel a presence greater than anyone in this world. End times is more than global warming, read revelations.
