We do use soap and water on our behinds everytime we take a bath or shower, which most Americans do several times a week. Washing our bottoms after using the toilet just is not the cultural norm in the US, washing our hands is the norm. I'm sure that you have some practice in your culture that we would consider disgusting. That's just life and how we were raised.

This is the old Muslim thing of washing rather than wiping. This is also why their customs demand that no food be eaten with their left hand, as that is for washing their nether region. Silliness. In World War II, my Uncle Johnny and some of his friend were in port with a Muslim-crewed vessel next to their ship. The Muslim ship had a sort of pulpit, or extension on the side of the ship where good little Muslims went to dump their bowels overboard. Knowing their custom of washing afterward, my uncle and his friends helped a Muslim clean up. They pointed the anchor hose at the man and turned it on. Blew him completely out of his little pulpit. Who says Americans don't help foreigners.

Not all Americans use this ritual. I for one use newspaper. I really like to take a section of the paper which has a person I really dislike and clean my hole with their face!!! Makes for an interesting day. Besides that is what a shower is for once you get home from work!

They wash their hands with soap and water after using the toilet paper to wipe the general area.
But if you are suggesting actually washing your butt every time you go, well, most of our facilities aren't set up for that, and we don't have products that are readily available that cater to that.

We Americans are smart enough to know that it is not right (or clean) to wipe our butts with our hands.
Leaves, newspaper, cloth, your shirt, regular paper, dog housebreaking paper, and the like ARE NOT equal to toilet paper, either!
So go out there and buy yourself a roll of Charmin, if you know what's good for you.

I use baby wipes or wet ones to tell the truth because there is nothing like that clean feeling between the cheeks and thats no pun intended.

well we use soap and water to wash when we shower or bathe but as far as everytime we use the restroom. no. that would be nice though if it could be done without having to get naked and dry off and well basically shower everytime.... solution use baby wipes or now they have babywipes packaged as multi-purpose or adultwipes

Well, I don't use either. I've found, on the advice of my good friend Gargantua, that the best thing for polishing the sphincter is a nice fat white goose.
