I always wondered the same thing!!!!!! maybe the guy who invented it was named ham, or hamburger, or something.

I have always wondered that too. Good question. BTW to the person who said ham comes from the cow are you joking? I thought everyone knows that ham comes from a pig.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that the hamburger was "invented" in Hamburg, Germany.
That's the only logical explination I can think of.
