Ok, so, I am not sure I can help much with the ejaculation since I am female...but...
I have been taking Effexor for 2 years and I have had NO decrease in sex drive. Actually, I was on Prozac before Effexor, and found that my sex drive went down. On Effexor, I feel so much better.
Also, if you become nervous about potential side effects of Effexor, be careful about stopping the medication. Effexor has some serious withdrawal symptoms. I recently changed my dose from 150mg to 75mg a day and it took me one month to complete the change....and I still had some symptoms.
I think your best bet is to stick with the drug. I think the benefits will greatly outweigh the side effects. Also, I think that most of the side effects occur mostly at the start of treatment and decrease over time. So, be patient, and good luck!

You also may have trouble reaching orgasm. But hey, most females wouldn't mind this characteristic in their partner.
Give it a try for a few weeks and see how it goes. Don't stop taking a drug because of possible side effects. Most side effects go away after a few weeks of use. Besides that there are a lot of drugs to treat anxiety and depression so you can keep trying until you find one you like best. I would know, I think i tried like 5 before i found one that worked. then after 9 years it stopped working and the fun started all over again. Now i'm on effexor and i'm quite pleased with it. I'm the queen of side effects and i haven't experienced any with effexor.

Shane, when talking psychotropics abnormal ejaculation simply means that it takes longer. So here is the deal. If U R having sex with a partner have all the fun you want BUT do not expect to finish. If you want to finish then abstain as long as you need to by trail and error you will find the right amount of time for you. Sex enhancing drugs (like Viagra) do not work however they can keep ya going until ya drop and at that point ya feel like ya had release (I don't advise this) rather I advise working towards fixing your deeper problem so you do not need the drug (s) that are interfearing with your sex life.
